Well, I stopped by the chemical supplier and picked up my meth... I got to see his warehouse full of 55 gallon drums of 99.99% pure meth... it was neat.

I paid $6 for the metal 5 gal container....

and I paid $3 per gallon for the meth.... overall I spent $21 for it.

In the future when i go back for refills, I'll be paying $15, which should last me a while.
I thought of buying a 55 gal drum, but in all honesty I dont think my EVO's trunk is big enough for it, plus I have no place to store it..

 

Any chance you can post, or pm me, the details of this place so I can add it to the list? Whatever you have is appreciated.

I realize I could probably search and find an answer, but since this thread was made, I figured I would just ask here. Plus I have to go to work and dont have time to search. How much does an alcohol injection kit hold worth of alcohol? And how often do you find yourself refilling?

Is there anything wrong with keeping the methanol in a plastic containers/cans (made for fuel carriage) rathher than metal containers?

 

I have never heard of that being an issue. Also, if you think about it, HEET (99% meth) and the blue windshield washer fluid (20-40% meth, depending on who you ask) are both stored in plastic containers, and I have yet to have any of those spring a leak.

 

I found a way to get my 100% denatured alcohol about 40% cheaper. I use to buy the gallon for about $11.99-12.50 plus tax. Now I order 5 gallon containers for $40 plus an additional military discount so it is about $36 for 5 gallons.

I get my stuff from ACE hardware.

0You can get 5 gal containers of denatured alcohol or methanol from McMaster-Carr online...

The prices aren't the best, but it's another source.

 

If you don't want to pay the shipping price you can look in your yellow pages for local chemical suppliers.

Just make sure you observe all the safety precautions if you get a 55 gal drum, like keep your kids away or don't store it in your living room

I keep my drum of Methanol out there in the front yard by the freezer

 

I keep it in my apartment's balcony

 

i have a 3 gal container in a plastic fuel container and the rest in the 5 gal drum

 

next to the grill




i have heard the "water remover" product heet is methanol. its about one dollar a bottle at walmart. i think they are 12oz bottles....so about $12 a gallon.

i have a speed shop down the road from me that carries it a $3 a gallon
