AIT and Alky Placement question
I run 100% meth with 15 and 7 nozzles right after the IC. This is with AEM. The intake sensor is at the TB so it tells me how much meth cooling there is. I have another set of air temp sensors connected to a peak hold gauge. One sensor on the turbo out and one at the TB. I can turn the meth off and see what temps are and then turn it on and see how affective it is. I think the ECU needs to see how cool the air is. Thats the point of the sensor isn't it? Either way has been proven to work fine. it just needs to be tuned correctly. As far as meth spraying out the BOV. This is a non issue. Evaporates too quick. Plenty of airflow in the engine compartment during BOV event.
One of the reasons I run the jet at the IC out is because this allows the line from the pump to the jet to be as short as possible. Long lines get sucked dry during highway cruise. There can be significant meth lag on the first punch after a cruise. Not good. kepp injection line as short as possible.
Vijay did some extensive testing of nozzle placement on a well tuned AEM car. He concluded it doesn't matter where the nozzle is placed. The effect it has inside the chamber is the same.
Ideal placement of AIT is in the intake manifold. Yet very few do it this way.
