BOOST activated system

I have read about all the different kits out there. I am still confused. Does anyone have there alky kick in via boost switch at around ~20psi? If so what kit are you using, and how do you like it?

I am planning on running an injection kit, but don;t want to spray all the time, just at ~20psi or so, is this a good idea?

Smc kit is progressive. You can set the start and full spray points.

Would it always have to be adjusted? or you tune it according to your tune?

Once you get it set where you want it you won't need to adjust it again. Just set it and forget it. I think most people with stock turbo start spraying at 10-12 psi and have full spray by 16-18.

What does one of those bad boys go for? ($$) And would I have to dash mount the controller?

-So is this the only kit thats boost dependant?

I believe all of the good systems (BR, AMS, TTP, Snow, Aquamist, etc.) are progressive....Generally the kits start in the $400 + range (+ installation) + failsafes + tune

Do your homework on ALK / Meth injection, as it can get quite expensive if something goes wrong....

Yes, our kit is progressive. Our non-progressive, boost activated kit is only run on our own car.

I would set my boost controller to 20psi, and when the boost was cranked past that it would spray. I then realized that wont be a good thing because I would be tuned for meth and a certain amount of boost.

Sounds good on paper, does not work well in real life. Spray on point needs to be set lower around 8-12psi in order for meth to actually reach the motor by the time it hits 20psi.

I think you need a quicker logging tool, depending upon nozzle placement the hit is alot quicker than you think becuase I can see fuel changes (already burnt and in the exhaust) in next to nothing. Yet I still agree the spray on point should be 10-12 psi so you get the benifits of the faster spool and making more exhaust pressure.

Let me elaborate a little bit more on what I was trying to achieve. Right now I am coming from the STi. In the WRX, I was running an access port where I was able to switch maps on the fly. My goal with the EVO is to make about ~550awhp ( on a GT35r ). Now my car will be a daily driver, and I didn't like the fact that I will be driving around in a 550hp performing daily activities. So basically I wanted to have 2 maps. 1 for full boost+alky, and 2 for daily use ~20Psi and not alky. I don't mind buying and access port and even a better idea a small laptop for around $400, to switch maps on track days or if an *** whooping needs to be given. I hope I clarified exactly what I was trying to do.....

why don't you just hook up a switch to turn the kit on and off and have two separate maps for alky and non alky...

Thats almost exactly what I stated up above , just on a Non-alky map, I would like to keep the boost down (daily driver) and still make decent power on the street. Abviously , I would need a switch

I am kind of in the same boat as you as far as the kit goes. I think my friends and many people on this site finally have me talked into alky but I dont want to spray until closer to full boost, or over stock boost. Dave Buschur said his car doesnt start spraying till 16psi and based on what TTP said about spraying "early" to allow for the delay so that the alky hits the motor at full boost I think this is about what I will do. Originally I just wanted to spray from 20-26psi but I guess 20psi is too long to wait. I also think if Dave can start spraying at 16psi then 10-12psi is not necessary as many have said on here. To be honest, I need to do more research on this subject though.
