Head studs and Meth

It was suggested that to take full advantage of meth. injection, headstuds would need to be upgraded. Is this a necessity? I wanted to hear from some of the veterans on this subject. Thanks!!

You might find out that it is the luck of a coin toss in here becuase you will hear both sides. I would say always but I am just the type of person that would rather over do things than under.

The boost makes them stretch?

The head bolts or studs can stretch from a detonation
condition caused by things like;length and severity of knocks
present, low octane fuel #,an overly lean a/f ratio and ignition
system malfunctions just to name a few. Of course an overboost
condition can contribute to the detonation as well and then lead
to the overall fastener failure.

Later guys

yup, it's detonation that's going to stretch the stock studs, not the boost. If you're detonation free, the next limit is going to be how much power you make. The pressure in the cylinder from "boost" is miniscule compared to the pressure from the power of "combustion" .

OEM studs are torque to yield, ARP isn't, so OEM ones use the stretch for clamping
