HFS-1 IDC or MPS trigger
HFS-1 IDC or MPS trigger
It has been a while since the kits been installed and tested. My thought on the method of triggering is still vague. Need some feedback from everyone.
If the system is trigger by IDC. The flow is very predictable, it be easier to trim your fuel map table at the point of trigger by a fixed percentage from that point onwards?
anyone?

I've used an IDC trigger on the setup I tuned. It works well, but is quirky.
This is what happens; Injector goes over pre set trigger point of duty, Meth system turns on, simultaneously, the fuel map goes lean to compensate for the meth and goes under the pre set trigger point, meth system turns off, boost continues to build (and quickly) and the trigger point is again hit and the meth turns back on. With a stock turbo car this happens so fast that if I wasn't prepared to see it before it happened I may not have noticed.
I wonder if I could tap a boost sensor for an electronic gauge or EBC.... time to break out a multimeter.

additionally, it is possible that the acceleration compensation, or tip-in enrichment can momentarily cause the IDC to exceed the threshold. this will cause a rich condition very briefly.... and its only likely to happen if you are already close to the threshold. i think the enrichment is in the neighborhood of 20-30%, but i will have to check again.
Thanks for the feedback.
I wanted to know if there is negative effect on the IDC trigger compared to boost trigger.
IDC trigger will always tagged to a given fuel flow (predictable m/f ratio) but boost trigger is not guarantee that the amount of alcohol is blending in with fuel at a given fuel flow due to RPM factor.
Sorry to make this complicated, but it has been playing in my mind for some time.
