Best bare bones kit????

I've done alot of searching and reading but 9/10 the "BEST" discussion leans to fail safes. Call me crazy but I'm not interested in adding a bunch of fancy do-dads. I'm simply looking for the old school boost sensative single nozzle injection system.

I'm looking for a kit with a top notch pump (that I wont need to replace once a year) and a quality nozzle. I plan on using meth as a replacement for race gas.

Help. Please post links if you can.

^ that is way way to complicated. Just look at that diagram LOL. I used to run an SMC kit. I'm looking for something similar but with better pump, nozzle, and reliability.

i like the coolingmist.... thats the plan for me...

gonna do the base kit. 2 gallon tank, ss line, dual nozzle, low level and its a shurflo pump..

Total comes out to 450 and its everything i need and will be 110% reliable. I'm using a smc kit right now...

Good question, Evil. I'm looking forward to the responses you get.

Someone I trust already suggested the AEM kit. At $380.00 it seems pretty reasonable as well as being a name brand.

for a start, compare the aquamist pump (bypass design) and pump others use (demand switch)

That's a neat video. How much of a difference does it really make.... who knows.

Does aquamist have a bare bones kit with that pump?

Please don't buy a kit that does not have a flow sensor and failsafe.

The HFS-1 comes with both and is a very reasonable price.

EVIL, Its obvious in the first post, what you want is the Aquamist HFS-1 kit.

You can buy the DDS3 and make up your own kit using the DDS3 to build around. Theres been a thread or two about in a couple of forums and the how to do this is in the DDS3 manual as well.

What you do not get by going the lower cost route of making your own kit are components that last OR have been tested and proven to work together as part of a package.

When trying to decide on kit theres issues you come up against that cause you to be unsure of what to do....or what to buy, or decide how much funds to put towards a kit.........IMO think about whats really important to you and make sure you get at least that out of what you spend.

As for install, if you look at what the components of the kits and how they tie into each other then you realize the kits need to be more involved then just plug and play.....if a person does not do well with installs of things that are more difficult then the typical CAI install then I would say stay away from these kits.

I can assure you though, the reward for doing the work is worth it and for those of us who have used the typical simple to install kits the little more work that is involved with these kits lead to a much better satisfaction with W/A in general.

I tell people all the time you do not realize the difference between the typical kits and the Aquamist kits till you have used both or have had both in your hands, its at this point that little more cost and the little more work seem trivial.

Also, last item as a pro for Aquamist to be the manufacturer of the W/A kit that you install on your car.....I have not had one person in two pretty good sized group buys tell me that the regretted the purchase they made OR have I heard of a person regretting the purchase, the hardware is top notch, the design is top notch and the features are top notch.

it is really not complicated at all. all wire and dds3 board is color coded. Take a few days to read more about the HFS-1

I don't want to hack up my wiring harness. I would prefer the entire system be separate from the ECU. I'm basically looking for a boost sensative kit with the best parts available.

Failsafes are nice but they introduce more pieces parts that may fail or become buggy. I guess a new improved SMC kit with better than fuel pump is what I'm after.

IF you want I can talk to you on the phone. Somethings get mis interpreted via he web OR do not always get conveyed well. PM you're number if you would like.

Hacking up wiring implies the typical radio install. It's not like that unless you want to do it that way. Correct wiring work to install does not differ much then factory recommended repair procedures = solder, heat shrink, good electrical tape and common sense. Most of the time the issue with anything to do with wiring is with the installer being a pig.

You do have to have a failsafe, but to use W/A injection, but not installing one when its a available is IMO not smart.........you're limiting yourself.....and you're using very narrow parameters that set you up for disappointment OR results that are less then what can be obtained if you open up to the current technology and spend some time.....fuel injection and computer control is costlier then a carb, but would you buy a carb car after using fuel injection???

We have pumps and so does everyone else......Northern tool is about the lowest cost source for NEW Shurlo pumps.

If cost and simplicity is a major major concern and you want quality I have a used Aquamist 1S I can sell you for $300.00.

Do you have more detail on the 1S kit?

I would prefer the pulseless pump and stainless steel lines.

Not interested in splicing into my wiring harness at all.
