disconnecting meth and lowering boost for the winter safe?
My situation is I have a Snow Performance meth kit installed and working but do not have a failsafe yet, I was wondering if there would be any harm in disconnecting the power to the pump and control box for the winter months and turn the boost back down to 21psi? The only concerns I have are if I am tuned for 28psi and meth under WOT and now I will have no meth and 21psi will I harm the engine? I don’t plan on ripping the car around 24/7 like this but im sure there will be a couple occasions over the winter I will do some WOT driving. Ive been waiting for Snow to release the new failsafe but there have been delays. Thanks!

i know nothing about tuning so that is out, and i am not taking it to a shop to get a reflash for 200+ dollars for a couple weeks....thats just stupid. Then i will have to get a retune again in the spring....i could buy a whole new meth kit for that price. If its really gonna be that complicated i will just keep the meth kit hooked up and drive the car like my 90 year old grandma until the spring.
what is wrong with turning the boost down and not running meth? please list some effects it will have on the car...

The biggest issue you could run into is detonation. And that's a really big issue. Depending on how your car is tuned, you could experience problems. As a for instance, if you're meth starts to spray at 8#'s or so, and you are actually using meth (not water), the meth is an additional fuel source that supplements the fuel from the injectors. If your tuner touched this area of your fuel map to keep a consistant a/f ratio while on meth, when you take the meth away, you will be leaner than desired, between 8#'s and 21#'s or where ever you turn it down to. Some tuners do tune these transient areas, while others just tune the load cells that are higher up and only accessed from the increased boost (higher than say 21#'s or so) normally associated with meth.

BTW i an running 100% meth purchased at TT, just take a few gallons from their 55 gal drums they use when i run out.
i was tuned at TT and the meth starts spraying at 10psi and full by 16 i believe which happens in a split second with the stock turbos quick spooling. I guess i will give them a call and see from what psi they usually tune from on a car with meth.
