Aquamist HSF-5 Nozzle Question
Aquamist HSF-5 Nozzle Question
What nozzle and restrictor pill are you using? I am using the medium restritor pill and large nozzle. Is there a better way up the amount of meth im injecting without adding another nozzle? If I did ad another nozzle, would it have to be the same size or could I run one of the smaller ones? Thanks in advance for your time.
The flow rate of the nozzle is marked on the packaging. You can use a mixture of nozzle. Total up the flow rate and pick the nearest matching pill.
You cannot increase the flow on the same nozzle unless you wind up the line pressure.
You can trim the flow curve of the HFS-5 system by mis-matching the pill.

I was thinking that adding an extra nozzle (smaller than the one I am using) will increase the flow. Also, I wanted to know the purpose of the restricter pill and why it was suggested to me that I use the medium pill with the large nozzle. I understang that you can't increase the flow of one nozzle when your line pressure in constant. You can only get so many psi through any orfice at a constant pressure.

I just realise after given it some thought, there isn't that much to calculate:
1. Restrictor is smaller than jet flow: It will loose some pressure upstream of the jet for the entire range.
2. Restrictor is biggert than jet flow: Maximum flow will peak at a earlier duty cycle % and flow will stop increasing.
If you want to conserve meth flow at high RPM. Use a smaller jet and a bigger restrictor.
I think this is correct.
