Tephra Map Switching & Aquamist DDS3

Sorry if this has been covered already but I have been out of the country for the past few months and not as active on the boards. Anyway....

Tephra's V.5 map switching seems to be working well and I was just wondering if anyone had implemented this map with an Aquamist DDS3 system.

From what I understand it would be pretty simple to implement and would allow for automated switching between meth and pump gas maps.

I plan to do this as soon as I get back home, but again that won't be for another 2 months....so please share your thoughts and experience with such a setup.

All I can say is DO IT! It is awesome. Working perfectly on my car for over a month now and I am happy as a clam. Let me know if you have any Q's, I documented my install pretty well in this forum.

I am having trouble with the failsafe window, but I admittedly have kinda ignored it for the time being It does work perfectly though, WOT 4th gear then turn DDS off, it drops boost....turn it back on while still under WOT and it does not go back up!

Over the last few months, we have progressively reduced the grace period. Grace period allows the flow to go outside the failsafe window for a brief moment (>60ms) without triggering the mapswitch. We have since found 60ms is too brief.

In most cases, especially the HFS-1, you can set the window a bit wider - about five clicks away from the trip point. It is a compromise between the grace period and widow width. It is a constant fight between the two methods to overcome flow spikes exceeding the window width. Dudical26 knows this well.

As the "response speed" of flow sensor is constantly being improved (turbine inertia), we shall soon have the cake and eating it. Commercial turbine flow sensor is just too slow and bulky to have any meaningful resolution for high speed "real-time" flow tracking.

Just a quick update, The latest DDS3, v9 has a 5V output that will intergrate with the Tephra directly.

Richard,

Is there any way to trade in an older yet brand new (never used) V8 board for a V9?

If not, what is the cost of just a V9 board?

For the v9 board to work well with the your existing gauge, you need to modifiy a few things on the guage's circuit board.

For an existing user, $50 should cover our basic cost for the v9. $12.00 airmail post (non trackable). If you send the gauge back to me , I can modify it for free proved you put another $6 towards the postage.

The v9 is a new circuit board, we cannot for the modify the v8 board to v9 manually.

There is nothing wrong with the v8 board - it will work with the Tephra v5 plus a few additional components.

I also need to know you flow sensor serial number to check the gauge circuitry.

I can't wait to get home so I can get this all working. Tephra map switching is going to be so nice to have!!

Did you add another output to the v9 board or did you just replace one of the other outputs? Is there just another screw type terminal for attaching another wire?
