I need help with my HFS-5

So I finished up my install and decided to make sure everything works like it's supposed to. I bought the kit used from xiaoni420 but there were a lot of new parts that came with it. Anyway I'm having two major problems that I don't know how to correct.

First Problem: I can't get my failsafe to switch on and off. I am using a Hallman MBC and my failsafe is just my MAC Valve. I know it works because I used a 12volt battery to power the valve on and off to make sure it was changing the ports. I installed it and powered it on and off with my battery and it worked like a charm. When it was time to wire it to the DDS3 I used pins 9-10. This is where I'm not sure of myself. According to manual pin 10 switches to ground when you're within the "Failsafe Window". Again another thing I'm not totally sure of but I can say this. I know the "B" lights up on the gauge when the meth is spraying which means you should be boosting whatever your MBC is set at but it doesn't. So what am I doing wrong?

Second Problem: My kit still sprays when the gauge is off. I assumed that the button on the gauge not only turns the gauge off but the system as well. Well mine doesn't do that. I noticed it this morning when I went to work and as soon as I accelerated the pump turned on and sprayed but my gauge was off. What the hell is that all about?

I thought the wiring was pretty much idiot proof but this doesn't seem to be the case. I double and triple checked all of my wiring and I don't know what else to do. The "First Time Start-Up" procedure checks out good when I do it. Please help!!!

I can help a bit...

First problem: Connect the MAC valve between pin #9 and #11. Ground pin#12.

Second problem: which version of the DDS3 do you have? v8, v8a or v9? I need to know this before I can help. Is the gauge original?

Thanks Richard!!! I'll let you know about the DDS3. I don't think the gauge is original with the kit. When I bought the kit "used" the seller "xiaoni420" told me that there was a new gauge included with it so obviously I assume it's not original.

Thanks slick-ix. I've looked at several wiring diagrams but for some reason I don't remember this one. I didn't have an install guide with it because it was used and I don't remember finding that one on here. I used dudical26's install guide as a reference but I don't think I saw this diagram in it.

I'll rewire the mac valve and test it to make sure it solves my problem. I'm sure it will but better safe than sorry.

Please check the blue wire from the gauge is firmly connected to pin#6.

i think on his 'HowTo' he follows a different diagram (because of his setup)... teh one above is the one i followed to install my HFS1, and it came out good... re check your wires following this one and see if you find anything

Okay Richard I'll check pin#6 as well. But if it's not this then what? I hope the relay is okay. Be right back. And Slick-ix I did re-check all of my wiring when I initially landed the trigger wire on the dimmer terminal....it was extremely late and dark, haha lol. Once I saw that I re checked everything but it doesn't hurt to do it again.

Well I changed the wiring on the mac valve as stated and it's still not working. I checked pin #12 against chassis ground to maked sure it was jumpered over from pin #25 correctly and it's good. It didn't activate as I had hoped so I switched the wires on 9 and 11 without any luck. Maybe it is my "Failsafe Window" but again this stuff isn't idiot proof so mine probably isn't set correctly. Any suggestions on a basic guide for setting this up? I've seen a couple of posts about using some type of button that's wired in and switching over to MPS mode temporarily but I didn't want to do all of that.

By the way I double checked the operation of my mac valve by just wiring the ground wire to pin 12 temporarily and it worked.....I hit 23psi which is what my MBC is set for. I switched the wires back to 9 and 11 and again I had no luck.

damn it I'm still screwed up here. I guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was. It's dark and the neighbors are old so it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I noticed another thing that was weird. My low level on my tank started to come in but it never shut off the pump. It was right at the level switch so it was going in and out but I romped on the gas pretty hard hoping to slosh the liquid away from the switch to keep the alarm in but had no luck shutting of the kit doing this. tomorrow I'll try it again with a "REAL" low level and try to see if the pump still tries to come one.

well... if you turn off the DDS gauge it (macvalve) should bypass the mbc and let you run only on wastegate psi... here, just to make sure you have the Macvalve setup correctly check with this: (it made it a lil easier for me) http://www.evodynamics.com/index.php...5&limitstart=8

did you check pin6? the problem is, if your kit still spraying after the gauge is off then its probably cause the dds box is not receving signal from the gauge to stop...
