Alky Jet (sprayer) before Recirc Valve

This is for those who've installed an alky kit on their X's or anyone who has experince with this.

I will be installing an alky kit soon and I was wondering where did most of you tap for the jet to spray into the TB (throttle body).

For those who dont know the X LICP has a massive rubber hose connecting the tb and licp pipe. Right after the rubber /cylacone connector is the by pass valve. So there is no room to tap for the jet after the recirc valve.

Option #1 install the jet beofore the recirc valve. Has anyone gone this route? Whats the side affects. I pmed richard from aquamist and he stated "There is a risk spraying your engine bay with meth (open vent BOV) if it is installed before BOV."

Option #2 buy an aftermarket licp which has more room to tap for the jet after the recirc valve. Im not trying to be cheap but i really dont want to go this route reason being there isnt much hp gain I rather invest in valve springs or something else.

any opinion or advice is appretiated.

spraying before BOV is not the best idea. Like Richard mentioned if you have atmospheric BOV you will spray meth all over the engine bay ( REALLY BAD). Since you have stock recirc valve this is not as big an issue.

The next issue is that you will be recirculating meth into the turbo. This is basically pre-turbo injection and the wear this can cause on the turbo is highly debated. But most people agree that there is a high likelyhood it can cause excess wear on the turbo.

Killing your turbo impeller is more expensive then buying a new UICP. I would say go that route.

Although you could just use the injector adapters that Aquamist make for a soft boost hose.
Aquamist sells an adapter which can allow you to put a jet into a silicon boost hose. I'm not sure how well it would work with the stock rubber style boost hose but ask Richard. I think it worth a try as its cheaper than a new UICP

I have my spray before the BOV on my IX (factory / 100% recirc) and it's working good so far...
Obviously, I also agree that buying a new UICP or hard pipes set with small silicon hose is cheaper and safer!
Cheers!
