Aquamist HFS-6 installed and running. :)

Got my kit Monday, install and testing was finished yesterday, started tuning today and I'm almost done with it.

Install is very straightforward. Only took about 3 hours for everything (wiring, hoses, tapping the uicp, installing the tank). Really easy. :P

Ran into a small issue during testing:
I put the jumper into the "TST" position to trigger the 100% duty cycle, to test the kit, and no fluid came out. I unplugged all connectors and replugged them, worked for an instant and stopped. Turns out my red plug (engine bay) doesn't conduct properly if it is pushed tightly inside the connector. I found the position to make it work, and I didn't have any issue today. Richard, any comment/help?

I will post pictures and maybe even a video tomorrow if I have time.

All in all, I am really happy with the kit so far. Only issue was the red plug thing mentioned above, which was somehow fixed.

Btw, car is an Evo IX with full bolt ons and an Fp red at about 28-29psi. Results look promising so far.

Kkarim,

Can you check the pins are not bent inside the red connector or some debris got trapped inside.

Which failsafe output are you using?

I did check that. Pins look perfectly fine, and there are no debris what so ever.

Kit has been working for 2 days that way, but i am somewhat sure that it will stop again once i move it wires. I will have the fiddle around again to make it work.

Oh and i'm currently not using any failsafe. Didn't make up my mind yet. I'm gonna be using either alt-map, or a 3-port solenoid in parallel with my mbc.

Good to hear reports of an easy install!

I plan on doing an HFS-6 install in the near future, I’ll be sure to document it with all my usual enthusiasm. Expect pictures and write up in the near future!!

I built a unit to test all the HFS-6 controller, it has four leads, terminated with the same RJ45 connector used on the coloured harness. So far I have not experienced any suspect contacts or slightest flicker of contunuity problems.

I begin to think the problem may be originated from the bottom of the 4-ganged socket. Take a very close look on the bottom of the circuit board and let me know if all the soldering joints are sound. But then again, if thereis a probelm, it would have shown up on the final test. Please keep looking.

By the way the RJ45 only engage properly when the plug is not fully pushed in. After the click, you shoudl pull the plug out slightly to relief and re-seat the spring contact wires.

O well then, if you have time to sleep then perhaps you should do another group buy so that you have absolutely no time at all, lol. I’m sure you’ll feel relieved once all the kits have gone out.

This may not be a bad idea, start another GB for the HFS-7 (wireless CAN version of HFS-6) next week. HFS-6 GB shipping is almost finished. I gladly exchange my sleep for GB - very exciting exercise.

Just remembered, I hate writing manuals - I lose sleep on them. So no GB for the H7.

You have been good to me. No more excuse to delay the HFS-7.
