The only Alky/Meth I reccommend is:

1. De-Natured Alcohol from home depot

2. VP Import M1 Meth from SK Speed or any shop that holds race fuel.

Those are my 2 top choices and personal opinions on what fluids to be running in your car.

We have experienced great outcomes using either of the two choices I listed above.

We finished up an 80mm FP Red build a few weeks ago. The customer supplied "Boost Juice" which to me is basically washer fluid. The car started knocking at 26/27#'s. Drained the meth tank and filled up with vp import. Bang, 33-34psi no problem.

We have had no good experiences with high psi tunes with boost juice or windshield washer fluid no matter how big the alky/meth jet is. We do not use alcohol injection to tune, we use it as a tuning aid and de-natured alcohol and vp import m1 meth has proven to work for us time and time again...Hope this helps everyone out.

^^ i live in new mwxico so it never really gets that cold here so its hard to find -20 wwf. id heard several times that denatured alcohol works just as good as or better than VP meth so thought id through that out..

so to mix?? just do 1/2 gal meth to 1/2 gal distilled water??

 

if you are using Methanol (Not windshield washer fluid) you can run 100% methanol if you want or you can run more water then meth it really depends

 

i wanna run 50/50... or should i just run 100% alcohol

 

I would say 50/50 at least. if not more water.

I've run it at about a 50/50 mix for years on several turbo cars with a lot of success. I very recently switched to meth at 50/50 though because it's readily available to me now. Alcohol works extremely well but meth has a good deal more headroom to work with.
For the other poster, a 50/50 mix keeps bad things from happening like fireballs underhood if something happens. Alcohol and meth is highly flammable. 50/50 to 80/20 is right where the sweet spot is from what I understand with both mixtures. For safety sake though, I'd highly recommend running braided lines and top of the line fittings if you're running a higher than 50/50 meth or alkyl content.

 

Also, a tune is needed. The car will fall on it's face usually if you just add alcohol and go with it. It runs very rich depending on jet size. The goal is to add that meth or alkyl, then lean it out and add more timing. Just adding one or the other doesn't really make much if any improvement.

 

I hate the internet, for the reason that 10 people say 40 different things.

Some say not to use denatured alcohol, some say its perfectly fine. Some say use WW fluid as long as theres no glycol, etc in it,others say its the best stuff possible especially because its so cheap.

Whats the deal here? I use denatured alcohol, but at 15 bucks for a gallon at home depot, its beginning to kill me. I want to get my hands on some VP M1 if I could find it by me. I also just found some Peak -30 (blue) WWF in my garage, which ingredients say Water and Methyl Alcohol. My concern is the water (being distilled or not) and the mixture. If it were mixed correctly by weight meth to water (50/50) I would put it in my tank and give it a shot. I do not know the mixture though, I dont want to put something in the tank that could be more water to meth.

As you can see, there are several good brands available at large national retailers, as well as several brands with glycol in them (to be avoided). If you end up with a brand that is less than 50% methanol, just calculate how much "concentrate" you need to add to bump the percentage.
