would some pls guide through the proper jet size ? as far as i know for water only it is 10-20% of idc.

stock injectors are rated at 600cc x 4 = 2400 and idc is 89% = 2136 x 15% (water) = 320.4 ml/min is the proper jet size ?

how much are u boosting ? wi pump psi ?
magical number for you is 396.

12.5 safe best power at WOT if the knock levels and fuel quality let you.
11.5 safe best torque at WOT if the knock levels and fuel quality let you
12.5 best afr for fast spoolin up turbo

12.5 aiming point.

i hope thats helps

5 small ones scattered throughout
- 1 M1 nozzle that sprays into compressor
- 1 375 ml/min nozzle pre TB
- 1 M1 and 2 M2 nozzles pre TB
2 pumps, one old style sureflo 150 and one new style dig demand pump

With smaller nozzles I find I get no wetting whatsoever. For instance, I sprayed a single medium sized nozzle and the AFR would dip in the 9s after the TB closed. Now they stay above 11 and I'm spraying more with more pressure.

My AFR hits 13 and gradulally richens to 12.5 at redline

Timing at peak VE is about 7* and 16* redline

Interesting setup. Do you have any pictures? What's the max consumption rate?

I can take a few pics and post them later, but I warn you my engine bay is not appealing to the eye, it's more by function. To guess the consumption I would estemate it to be around 700 cc/min WOT near peak boost.

Probably whatever power stock VIII turbo (10.5HS) with stock IC and plumbing can possibly make without NO2 - Not Much!

I did 409whp on my stock turbo w/ 10.5 Hs. 31psi dual meth nozzles.

I might try nitromethane on my red. I felt a huge difference when I used it on the stock turbo.

Ooops, I meant N2O (nitrous), not NO2. I thought nitromethane works better on big displacement low reving engines because it burns too slow for the 2L.

I did use it with success. Never got a chance to dyno the car after adding nitro meth. My mix was 95% Meth 5% Nitro meth

Gasoline produces the most power when the AFR is at 12.5:1. Having said that, the cylinder head on the Evo 8 has an archaic design and you will be hard pressed to run 12.5:1 AFR w/o knocking. The Evo 9 has a slightly better head design than the 8. On meth/water and E85, I run Evo 8/9s at 12-12.3:1 AFR. The Evo 8/9s seem to be more tolerant of a leaner AFR and boost increase than they are of advancing the timing. Timing advance seems to trigger more knock than a leaner AFR.

When it comes to the Evo X, the cylinder head design and the semi-open deck design are way ahead of the Evo 8/9. That should allow you to run 12.5:1 AFR on with high octane gas water/meth or E85.

Dave - on my car I did not see a big difference in peak hp from 11.8 to 12.5 AFRs. That said, the leaner combo had less room for mistakes and had occasional knock after long hard runs....My current tune is ~11.5. Also regarding timing, on my car I found I gained the most from adding boost (vs. timing).

yeah I think maxing out airflow is the best thing todo with meth... because you can cool that charge down...

thanks guys - I will stick to 11.8ish, i still hit 12.3 in some gears on some days, so its good to have a little safety barrier i think!

Does anyone have dyno sheets showing the different gains of running 11.0-12.5? I think this would be very informative info if someone could post something like this up.

I have done some but only with the Virtual Dyno program. I have actually found little if any gains moving from about an 11.8 to a 12.5. I used to think that there was but now I am going to test this out more. I also think that you have to consider how much meth you are spraying.

So now I am thinking that keeping it a little richer will not harm power. I am going to make not in earlier posts.
