meth AFR's - whats good?
Dave - on my car I did not see a big difference in peak hp from 11.8 to 12.5 AFRs. That said, the leaner combo had less room for mistakes and had occasional knock after long hard runs....My current tune is ~11.5. Also regarding timing, on my car I found I gained the most from adding boost (vs. timing).
Advantages from timing diminish after you have already moved peak cylinder pressure to the optimum point ATDC, which is based on the burn rate of the fuel. Ultimately you end up moving that point BTDC which is when bad things happen.
