Hey Guys. I recently picked up a built evo with a hta35 setup on a built motor. I picked the cas up in the US and brough it home to Canada. The car is currently tuned on Denatured Alcohol. The car has a Aquamist kit on it. I found out its almost impossible to get denatured alcohol here but have easy access to meth. I picked up some meth and put some in the car and did a few pulls monitoring AFR's. Everything seemed to be ok. The car has a fairly conservative tune. Is it ok to keep running the meth or can I possibly cause damage? From what I have read Meth has a lower octane rating than Alcohol? To be safe im going to take a trip to buffalo this weekend to pick some alcohol up but was hoping I could run the meth in the mean time. What do you guys think? Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have an AFR gauge in the car? Denatured is basically ethanol with methanol added in so you can't drink it . Did previous owner use 100% denatured or water ratio mixture. Should use same ratio with meth if it was tuned for it. Usually 50/50 ratio of water/meth works good.

 

I would take it and get it tuned just to make sure everything is good across the board. Also I use to run 100% VP M1 meth in my AEM kit, 1500cc injector and did that for about 20k miles. I love it and made lots of power. I prefer 100% than a 50/50mix.

I have my tune set for 50-50% water-alcohol. I had it working sometime with meth: it does not feel that good but is not going on wired afr neither.
