wifes xmas gift to me... meth

Truth is she must have been looking over my shoulder and thought to get what she saw.Anyway she bought me a Perrin PW2 spray kit. I dont know what the supporting mods that needs to be done for this or if any are needed a all.
I know how meth\water injection works but not much else. Is this a good kit? is meth safe to run? I dont race the car , some highway fun and general goofing around but def dont beat it. How many miles will a gallon of spray last? Is it constant spray or load triggered?

Any info would be great thanks. Have to decide if it has to go back or keeping it.
pretty cool gift Wifey gets

I can tell you that it is addicting! lol Your car will not act the same with out it!

Seriously though I have not heard much about the perrin kit. Post up some info. You can run meth injection on a stock car but to get the full gains you will need to have a tune.

I have a lot of Perrin products and have been happy with quality and performance. I knew I would need a re-tune. If it is safe and hassle free I will install the Perrin kit. I am just looking for a little more education on running spray.

I would contact Perrin about the specifics you need to know about running their kit. That is your best bet man.

^ Yep going to do that. Any other info on how meth works... meaning how long to expect a gallon to last and does it spray all the time? Can the stock turbo make the boost needed for optimal gain? or is the boost the same and the afr leaned out a bit?

if you get addicted make sure your wife sets enough money aside to either support your habit or send you to rehab.

The kit will only spray once past its trigger point and should stop spraying when the condition is not meet. I. E. Off boost or btwn gears. It would be very hard to say how ling you tank will last btwn fill-ups it will depend on nozzle/jet size, trigger point, tank size, and how you drive it. I would guess 2 week to a month though.

50/50 seems to be safer for the pumps. If your pump ever starts to leak you can use gasket maker to reseal it. That said I like 100% methanol because you dont have to mix it and it makes great power. Other look toward the 50/50 mix, it still makes good power. It is not as hard on pumps ( I believe) and is not supposed to combust like 100% meth. The 100% methanol by its self will burn clear and colorless. I have yet to try and ignite the 50/50 mix.

From reading on the website. It is a progressive injection system so the pump will have to ramp up pressure unless it has a built in check valve. It also uses aquamist jets so that is a plus. They offer great atomization. I would recommend using the IDC option instead of the load option for WMI trigger. The site also does not recommend using 100% methanol with their pumps (rtv will stop the leaks). The only thing that I do not see is any sort of failsafe. Does the instructions talk about one at all. That would worry me. If you run into a low/no flow situation and do not notice it your afr can spike and toast something.

OP don't mean to hijack your thread but I liked the title of it and just wanted to share what my wife got me:

From personal experience with meth, I like running 50/50 (meth/distilled water)
I've found this to be the best combo on my car, you get the best of both worlds...higher octane from the meth and knock supressing qualities of H20.
To put a time frame on how long a tank of meth will last is all dependent on how heavy your right foot is...I generally get as much as 3 weeks to a month out of one 1 gallon tank (and this is usual dd driving + WOT pulls)
I have the AEM meth kit which is boost activated...so once you cross over a pre-defined boost level the meth comes on and gets to full spray at another pre-defined level. So basically if you drive your car "easy" and don't cross that start point you won't be using any meth.

^^^ thanks for all the info guys. I have a much clearer picture of how it works. Perrin recommended aquamist fail safe in addition to the kit. Thanks for reading their product description and dumbing it down for me. Great Santa delivered a nice new turbo

I didn't want to create a new thread, I have given some more thought to the kit. Anyone please chime in with knowledge on this. Do I have to put new head studs in? I also thought about what else needs to be done.
AFR=200$
Failsafe=200-300$
Headstuds=100ish
Tank= 1gal 100
ReTune=150-200
Install= 3-400
PW2=550
total cost around 1800-1900. I am not sure how much more HP/TQ would be gained. I like the best bang for the buck. This amount of money could be turbo upgrade or cam upgrade or licp/rotors pads and tires
Some of the above are ballpark. I am not the most knowledgeable about this stuff so I am looking for some direction/advise. Thanks
