can anyone compere the two systems? i have a brand new perrin pw2 kit it can run off boost or idc, its a nice system and new was 500-600 bucks. i went to have it installed and shop told me to get a hfs-3. from what i could read the hfs is triggered the same way. im pretty sure aquamist built perrins kits. i did buy the hfs-3. So im looking for what the differences in the kits.
is the perrin good enough or is the hfs-3 that much better? thanks

 

HFS-3 has a failsafe, hfs-3 has a more linear fluid delivery system, etc. You can find a used HFS-3 for $400, and would go that way, unless you don't have enough space for the aquatec pump.

 

i bought a brand new hfs-3, the only difference that i can see is
perrin 750ml this pump is supposed to have a faster pump than the larger pumps.
aqua 1000ml

the aquamist failsafe works with the perrin kit. also has aquamist hardware jets/filter/ ect
perrin kit new was 500-600 without failsafe
aquamist failsafe alone is 399- the hfs3 is 700-750 so the pump and accesories without failsafe should cost around 350. im not a baller so money is an object for me, i try and spend fun money wisely. If perrin kit is a viable, safe and reliable i want to use it and spend money elsewhere. instead of coughfin up 750 for a hfs-3. peace of mind ,quality i wont cheap out on.

 

Check this thread. THe Perrin is a PPS system, and the HFS-3 is a PWM-V system.
