Possible SoCal sponsorship?

uhm i hope this is the right place to post this but i've been talking to a friend of mine who's working with a company called Velocity Corp. [sister company is Weapon R] and he says that they are in the process of building a Lancer as we speak...

anyway my reason for me bringing this up is because they'd like to get in touch with us and see if its at all possible to host a meet for SCLC and to talk about a possible SPONSORSHIP for us. I still have alot of things to discuss with the guy as soon as i get more information on this company and contacts i will forward them to PlastikPyro since i think he's the head of the SCLC right? well anyway i'll put up the info on this post as well so everyone in SCLC can take a gander on what they are about. If you guys dont want me to bother with these guys then just let me know...im not sure if the company is serious all i know is that they are building a lancer themselves and i suppose they'd like some publicity for it from us as in joining our club and going to shows and such.

thats it. Peace.

SCLC's official sponsor is currently Road///Race and they have been very good to us. But more sponsorships are always better. As we build a name for ourselves and a presence in the import tuning community, sponsorships is what we need to help us get there. Good effort DriftRunSir and I commend you on taking an active role in our cause.

hey richard.... not trying to put a damper on your whole idea as RRM as a sponsor... but sponsor means that we sport their logo, and they give us parts, we advertise for them every where we go. How often do you get questions about your lancer, and only talk about RRM??? cause shoot, I do it all the time, I just don't think we're getting what we should be from them.... have you recieved one free part from them??? dude, I'm going up there ttoday, to get my wing installed, and they are gonna charge me... shouldn't be like that... I'm even gonna help do it. he said he'd give me a better deal, but, I dunno, I don't call that much of a sponosorship.

-hey drift- FOR SURE talk to them and see waht they are all about, and what they are looking for from us, SOUNDS GOOD!

i can see where you are coming from, but Rob is a good guy and I can always trust asking him some questions about the Lancer if need be.

I'm not questioning how good of a guy he is, I know he's cool, I like hanging out up there, and talking to him, he's really knolegeble (sp?) like I said, I'm going up there today, cause I need to get a bunch of holes drilled for my wing... I totally trust him and everyone else up at RRM, I just don't think we are getting the deals we should be. I love RRM, I think all the people there are great, and totally helpful.

ok, what i wanna know is did Rob ever set out a list of deals he was going to give your club???

Like percentages off of products or anything of that nature???

Cause my club has club deals, and they are usually cost on all products, or %'s off of cost. If Rob never laid anything like this out for you, then he is not entitled to do anything for you, but be a nice guy. Which is understandable from my stand point.

Sponsorship doesn't always have a monetary value to it. It doesn't always mean "free parts" and "huge discounts". Sponsorship comes in many shapes and forms. Whether it be free installs, or letting us use Road///Race as a meeting spot, free parts for raffles etc. We take what we can get and we should be happy that RRM is on our side. I think you guys are stepping way ahead of yourselves. Complete sponsorship doesn't happen overnight. It comes from building a good relationship over time. When we start to take shape and begin to look and function like an actual club I'm sure Road///Race will eventually come around. Lets not be too hasty and start burning bridges. Atleast we all agree that Rob is a nice guy and between him and Gabe they do a danm good job. So everyone please put down your pitchforks and torches and have a smoke. But like I said, the more sponsorships the better so if anyone has someone who's remotely interested in SCLC then let me know. Chris made a good point in his last reply. Nothing has been etched in stone yet, no deals has been made, no promises has been given. Show me 30 Lancers at our upcoming meet and I can assure you that it won't go unnoticed.

very true on what you have to say Plastik...

I have a lot of sponsors, but they have been made by building relationships with people that work for these companies and letting the feel asured that my vehicle will be noticed and there product will be showcased everywhere i go.

Sponsors are nice, but they arent everything. U just cant expect to recieve free stuff from people without something in return...

very true, and I should retract some previous statements... I went up there today, and was treated VERY well, and ended up not paying... plus I got an oil cap! (yay!) haha RRM is the best, I never meant to say I was mad at them or anything, just a little frustrated maybe....
