There's a group of us that goes down to the Pavilions pretty much every Saturday. (Pavilions is on Indian Bend and Loop101 in Scottsdale if you don't already know)

In case you're wondering, there are hardly any "fun" drives (aside from the ArizonaRides ones if you want to drive down to Tucson). If you want to get something together I'm sure you'll find a group of people that would want to join you.

I am a third generation Arizonan and lived in every side except North Phoenix. I currently live in Goodyear, which is the first exit before you get to Los Angeles. It's growing pretty quickly out here; they should start breaking ground for the new shopping center out here in 2007. Houses have appreciated so quickly out here that if I didn't get in at a time when they were low I wouldn't be able to afford to live out here. That's okay, however, because in two years I'm moving out of the state for grad school.

 

We don't descriminate at AZLancers.net. AZEvolution.com is only evos, and Arizonariders.com is all cars. So is DesertImports.com.

 

EVO's, STI's, Supras, rotary's, & high end German/Italian cars mostly. anything else is subject to his approval.

<step onto soapbox>This is an insanely irrational thread. I am white, I have done nothing you speak of, I have numerous friends who are of a different ethniticity, and none have never experienced what you have. I am truely sorry that you experienced this, but I am also deeply saddened to be placed in the same category as those individuals you speak of...you are pretty much creating more racial tensions you are trying to escape from, only electronically and in the same reply. I would do what you feel is necessary to protect what is important to you, but look closely at what you posted and then the reasons for moving from Phoenix, kind seems contradictory to me...I didn't know you had to be white to be a racist focktard and to shoot at non-whites.

I have lived and been a lot of places in my 25 years of life, and everything is tough everwhere I have been. Unfortunately Racism is worldwide, BUT ITS WRONG EVERYWHERE!!

Again, I am truely sorry about what you have experienced growing up in Phoenix, but its extremely difficult for EVERYONE, its about the system, not the race or color of the individual!! <exit soapbox>

i'm here in tempe. i have hated AZ since my mom moved me here in '82. i suffered enuff thru all the racial crap here (no MLK day in school, racial profiling, getting shot at by skinheads, horrible treatment of Hispanics, etc...) so i'm taking my family to Miami where it's only 2% white. not to mention FL has no emissions & better gas. you can get 94 octane there for the price of 87 here + i would rather go thru 1000 hurricanes than continue to deal with this religious hypocrit state.

 

Just because he is married to a white woman does not mean he cannot express his views on racism. In fact, I am sure she would agree. Personally I have not seen this sort of racism here in Phoenix yet, but I have only lived here for 2 months. If you want to see racism, you should visit Oklahoma and Texas as that is where I lived before.

I dont think Naj ment in anyway that its us, or anyone he knows. He means the area in general. The point of this thread is that, yes theres evo/lancer owners here, but they dont come out of the hole till the weekend, and at that they only stay on till the street lights click on. The scene is alot nicer then where i came from, but its deffinatly better else where. I mean, it nice to see a skyline pull up to the pavs every so often.

Like everyone else said check out the Pavs in scotsdale (101 and indiana bend) and on Ray rd. theres DSM people that meet there every thursday.

i'm not bashing all white people here. i'm just making an observation as to the way this state is run. if i was white (alot of minorities ponder this), there would be no problem in life. but i'm a black male from NY with an Arabic 1st name so that's 3 strikes in america's eyes. i have to work twice as hard to get 1/2 the respect. yeah i married a white woman & now i have black people (especially black women-they absolutely hate seeing it) looking down on me so racism is not just on the white side. i have experienced racism from blacks who are ONLY FROM ARIZONA. black people i meet from other cities are like me as they came from a multicultural background where everybody's equal. it's bad enuff that people see me in either evo & have to look several times to "confirm" that it is one cuz it doesn't have "spinning wheels" or looks like a "lunch box or roller skate" since that is the stereotype my own people created. when i worked graveyards at circle k with the yellow evo parked outside, i had black people telling me that "you're trying to be white", or white people telling me "you can't afford that car, you're borrowing it". i am not ashamed of who i am & have been blessed to live pass the life expectancy (avg U.S. black male lives to 15.7 years old) but i'll be dammed if someone messes with my newborn daughter's future. i gurantee you will see me on the news if i continue to live here. on the way home from the hospital with her, i was nearly rearended 5 times in the 2 mile trip home for going "the speed limit"...


so all i'm saying is that AZ still has some ignorant people here. it has gotten better since i 1st came here, but it's still a long way from LA, DC, Miami, ChiTown, or NYC. besides with the home prices here at an alltime high, i might as well get an ocean view if i'm gonna pay $300-500k for a home. Miami homes have yards, space between them, look different, & most of all no HOA's.


maybe i should go buy a Cadillac to make the locals happy...
