Hmmm, lets think this logically... if he were to drive his own car to do this (approx. 5200 miles round trip) it would end up costing him...

Miles driven: 5135 (round trip)
Hours lost: 196 (round trip + 1 week stay)
Gas spent: $637 (at 25mpg and $3.10 per gallon)
Wage lost: $2,940 (at $15 an hour for 196 hours)
Food & Lodging: $495 (9 nights at $40 a night and 3 meals a day at $5 a meal)

Total Spent/lost: $4072

So almost $4,000 vs. spending $400 for someone local to do it. I think that's pretty reasonable for him to make that request. So before you guys get all huffy about it think about the facts and let the man do what he wants.

Listen i've gotten a lot of work done by Protech fabrications in the past. They are just by far the best i've seen. Hell Bruce use to work for Nasa. He's one of 10 best welders in American period. I just wanted some help. I"ve had a couple people interested. We'll see. If you are not - thats fine. Thanks

i dont think this is bad. All they are doing is taking **** out and putting it back. It's like removing and re-assembling. I myself wouldnt mind since I got 2 cars. If they drive it and mess with it, then I will mind. If I were the guy who's bringing in the car, I would make sure they put at most 2 miles on the odometer

I have found someone that will gladly lend me his car. All he has to do is drop it off there for 1 week so that Bruce has enough time for measurements. There will be ZERO driving. Lets see how things go

Good luck with the project but I would be surprised if anyone is willing to take the risk of this let alone there is no way I would let someone have my car for a week for only $400.00 especially with them taking parts on and off the risk to high and the price is way to cheap. I do have to commend your devotion to this fabricator but why not get a local shop or buy a pre-made kit? You got big ***** to ask this of a stranger on the other side of the country!

$400 for one week is reasonable and I assume they won't do any driving? We know that they are professional, so they wouldn't do anything bad to your Evo.

So I guess make a contract by saying that the shop will repair anything if they ever break something, then let the owner agree on it .

You can get a nice mod for 400 bucks .
