Is there a limit on the amount of race gas you can buy from the 44th Street and Chandler Blvd. gas station?

I went in tonight to get 15 gallons of VP101 and the pump stopped at 12.5 ($75) I tried to run my card again at the same pump, tried a different credit card (a few actually), and tried a different pump (w/ diffrent CCs) and it shut me out on all my attempts. Kind of a bummer since it was a 60 mile round trip. Looks like it's time for me to start looking for a 55 gallon drum to keep at the house.

 

I never had it do that to me on CC mode...

One night I messed up and hit Debit, and it would only let me get $50 out of the pump. Had to redo it CC to get more

 

i always just pay inside so there are no problems. works everytime

 

I think all cc's limit gas purchases to $75 its a protection to deter stolen card usage. Debit is limited to $50.

 

Hmm, I wonder why it wouldn't let me use a different card, or the other side of the pump though? I tried 3 different CCs and none of them worked on either side of the pump after I already pumped $75 worth of gas.

 

gas pumps are on timers. if it detects multiple cards being used within a certain time, it will shut down. it's a fraud protection thing. when someone steals a cc, the 1st thing they do is buy gas since the pump only authorizes $1...

 

Doug, are you stealing race gas again?
