I did my first 5th gear pull this morning and it was amazing. Just pulled and pulled. Gotta love those Tomei 280s.

I was out running around with my buddy who just got a IX RS last night trying to find somewhere to have some fun. We got over the tire poppers on South Mountain, but were chased off by some ******** Ranger before we got very far. Shoulda just headed up to the mountains by you, but I can't go further than 80 miles from the gas station in Chandler so that kind of limits the fun I can have for now.

I gotta work on the 21st, but I am going to try and be off by like 7pm so I can roll.

Hey Reid,

I think you're doing your car up PERFECT. Excellent choice on the turbo kit. When does it hit full boost? I think it's going to be one beast of a street car.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Doug. I had some doubts about the turbo, but now I love it. It spools pretty quick and I am getting boost right now from about 3,800, but with the 2.4 I have torque before I even get in boost. Remember I'm not even tuned yet and I am only using my wastegate for boost, so I should be able to spool it even quicker, especially when I run open wastegate at high boost. This car has insane top end power already. I did a fifth gear pull from like 90 to 130 this morning and it was rediculous. I can't believe how hard it pulls with only 14psi.

Born and raise in Spain for 23 years but live in the USA for 11 years(on and off) and in other European countries a few other years, currently living in Tucson.

I am not sure if I can make it by the end of the month, I have a scheduled circuit racing to do on the 21st at Arroyo Seco Motorplex, I am going there with about 25 more people from Tucson/Sierra vista/Phoenix, we are renting the track for the whole day.

Just let me know what day, I would definately like to take pics and vids of your car at the track.

Carlos

Too much testosterone around here... I'm starting to get the itch for a new turbo. Since I'm not going to go completely nuts like you fellas, I was thinking about a 20g IX turbo. I keep hearing a lot of good things about them.

The word on the street is that Scott(I friend of mine) is going to have his 2.3 stroker engine done by next week.

He called me today and asked me if I could swing by and help him and other friends to finalize the engine.

This is a 2.3 jackson machine stroker on stock 9.8 hotside turbo(unless he decides to swapp into the 10.5). Nothing special about his car, typical mods, TB, NO CAMS, fuel pump,MBC air filter and now the stroker.

I thought it was a significant comment to make since there are not many 2.3l stroker Evos on the street.

Atleast on my DSM a 20g was just too small. If I decide to upgrade the turbo on the EVO its getting something big.

Topnotch, your car sounds like a beast.

When will your car go back on the dyno? I'd like to see this beast make full boost. I think Mike inspired me to bring ear plugs too

And I predict Doug will eventually do the stroker kit... I can't count how many times I've heard him say "Ok this is the last mod"... just as long as you guys keep upgrading, the peer pressure is too much for him.
