How about some more details? Did Reid make a pass or two? Anyone else?

Fastevo8, what were your times and why do you think the clutch is the culprit? What happened?

Just the fact that I could not launch, RPM would lurch around above 4.5K, and the fact that I ran 1 full second slower than I did bone stock even with a conservative launch! Pretty pissed about the whole thing, I'll just upgrade the clutch when I get some more money.

Oh and my trap speed was a full 4-5 mph lower too. I quit after the 2nd pass when I confirmed it wasn't me, just the car.

Didn't run yet, car still needs a little more attention, though I did dyno at 460 whp at 25-26 psi still with the stock front mount. I am actually glad the car wasn't ready, 'cause the line was rediculous.

Karma ran his bone stock IX RS to a 13.08 at an absurd 106.45mph with a 1.9 60'.

Carlos from Tucson ran his VIII MR to a 12.2 at 111mph with a 1.7 60'. That dude was cool as hell and he can drive.

Bone stock? Not even a flash? Man, that's fast. Does Karma weigh like 90 lbs or something?

Yeah bone stock, and he is a skinny dude but not 90lbs.

Antonio, it had a loose intercooler hose clamp and at about 1.2 bar it would just open enough for air to leek out. Can't boost more now 'cause injectors are at 100% and I think that I am way beyond the efficiency of the stock front mount. I'm pretty happy with the 460whp at 25lbs though and the car pulled like a **** on the street. Even got a little squirrely in 3rd gear at wot. That engine revs to the moon and is still pulling hard at 8 grand. I think that I was still making like 430whp at 8k and I am sure that the intercooler is restrictive at that point.

Heheh, I kinda thought that the stock IC hoses would be ballooning up under that amount of boost possibly loosening the clamps. Thats sick though, great numbers man.

Thanks Gaijin,

I am planning on going back to Firebird in a couple of weeks at the most. I am buying a new helmet so that they don't tell me something at the track.
My girl enjoy a lot talking to you guys, you guys were a lot of fun as well and very knowledable too.

This was my 74th pass with my Evo at the track since I had it. I was going to take the Evo 9 to SIR today but we woke up too late(1200pm). I just fixed a small issue with the shifting on the Evo 9 , I just put some Shyncromesh on it and now it shifts very well.

I am going to get retuned soon, I am just putting the stuff on the botton of my signature then taking it to the track. I think 11.999 at Firebird is achieveable under optimal conditions and with the right mods.

We(me and Evo9grl) will definately contact you the next time we go there, we had a really good time running the car there and your support was great. I want to see John Mynes Evo running there and I also wich to see Topnothevo Evo doing some 11's.

Please stay in touch!!

Carlos and Socorro(Evo9grl)

I think that Karma trap speeds on his Evo made the entire Evo/STI community jelaous, 106.45 is unheard specially for a guy that was not launching perfectly and did not have much background on AWD turbos.

Even the 06 STI with full 3" TB and tunning was not a match for Karma, the STI did a 13.1 best and a best of 104mph.

The black Evo with black rims had a really bad luck, he had 1000 miles on that Exedy new twin disc clutch and it was gone. He trapped very decent trap speeds though(113mph)..

I had a WRX once, it was a Sonic Yellow Edition and had it for 2 years, I had it tuned by AZscoobie(Clark from Kingpin) at Dynocomp. At the time I thought that UTEC was the bomb, I even had the remote switch for different mappings. I made 280whp/255 tq on the DynoDynamic Dyno

If you ask me now, I would suggest you get tuned with ECUTEK or have a reflash done on the stock ECU by a reputable tuner. If you want something simple and realible, the mail in flashes are the best bang for the buck.

I heard John Mynes also does good job.

Let me narrowed it down a little bit:
black 03-04 Evo, black rims,Defi gauges in the center console, puts around 350whp at Dynocomp and the driver is a young dude light eyes and blound.
He ran against a black STI 13.3@113 but his clutch was destroyed, he showed me the run in his video camera. He had a Exedy twin disc clutch put 1000 miles ago.

He was very frustrated. Are we talking about the same guy here?
