It might not be a bad idea to get prequalified from an online lender.
Interest rates are going up so why not lock in the lowest rate possible.

I could try to sell it locally, but i can't not have a car nor an additional
laying around for a period of time. The delima's i'm in..
Sounds like there's a few other people on here that are in the same situation I'm in.
I'm hoping to get an EVO IX this summer, but I have my 2003 SE-R Spec-V (which I still owe on) to sell.
So how do I handle selling the car, then having an EVO lined up and ready to go when I sell my car? Seems like it would be difficult to pull off with a local dealer, let alone SC Mitsu in CA!
Another question is, do I try and buy the car now before interest rates go through the roof? Or do I hold out and hope that Mitsu will come through with 0% on the EVO like they did last year in August/September? But then I also have to hope that there's a TB IX GSR SSL still around then as well!
AHHH!!! What to do?!?!?

One idea, is to go online and try to get prequalified from Capitol One or similar.
Usually the rate and loan is good for thirty days. If you end up not buying
a new Evo IX in time then obviously you lose the rate. But at least there's
no cost to you or no harm done.
In the meantime you guys can try and sell your existing cars.
Plus who knows maybe eventually Mitsubishi will have the 0% rate again
like they did with the Evo VIIIs. When and if that happens remains to be seen.
BTW ... I used to have an 04 Silver SpecV with the bucktooth.

man i'm in the same thing as you
except i have a honda accord that i'm trying to sell
=/
I'll probably post up about the whole process if I end up actually buying the car from the dealer in CA and then having it shipped here. But because I have a car that I have to sell first, it'll just be easier for me if I can get a dealer here in Michigan to come within $1k (about what I think it would cost to ship the car from CA) of the deals in California.
I have my doubts about Mitsu comming out with 0% again. Since interest rates are on the rise, it seems like that would affect Mitsu as well and make it more costly for them to offer 0% financing to customers. Feel free to correct me if I'm off base on this thought.
Sorry to get off the subject of the thread a little.

I'm not sure about your area, but when I was looking for a deal on an Evo in NV, they couldn't come within $4k of what SCM was offering. I even looked in N. CA with no luck. Besides, they'll probably try to jack you on the trade if they come close to SCM deal. Believe me, the best option is to sell your car privately and get one from SCM.
F*CK !!!!
I was hoping to go into my local dealer and show them these prices. The have a low price guarantee and i was gonna shove this deal in their faces.
they list the IX at $31,9xx and they said they could beat the deal by at least $200.
