I vote for Road Race Engineering and RnR Racing. I have never been to Tuning Technologies so they could be just as good.

Road Race Chassis in Santa Fe Springs is where you will find John Mueller. It's right across the street from Road Race Engineering and Mike W. Just don't bother John when he is working on my car. I am lower on the food chain than Kent, but you are lower on the food chain than me. Way lower.

My track day EVO - modified and serviced by Road Race Chassis:

My daily driver EVO (just got it, not sure about service, dealer will probably be fine for bone stock car):

The Road Race Chassis team with the Mistsubishi Ralliart 46G3 turbo awd Prototype Eclipse. Mueller did the suspension and track testing at Streets of Willow. John is the guy in the middle with the goatee and the **** eating grin on his face ("Mitsu paid me how much do to this!?!"):

I'm not here to bad mouth them but Here is what i gone through with Harman. 1 year ago i purchase the UTec + dyno tune at Harman. Dan is the tuner. Before any installation, i told him that i only was a safe tune ( i told him that i want AFR high 10s, Boost at 20 psi). He said, no problem. The Dyno tune was less than 40 mins of his time and here is outcome. AFR @ 12s, boost level @ 22psi. Knocking from 5.5k rpm til redline. Injector Max out. I ask Dan.. hey, i told you i only want high 10s AFR and 20 psi and what is going on. He said, that's all i can tune. If you want avoid the Knocking, get a bigger injector and fuel pump and i will tune it again for you (will cost me another 300 bux). I end up selling the Utec within a week coz that time i don't know anything of tuning.

You care to clarify why you're badmouthing this shop?

HarmanMotive does great work and they've built and tuned many of my friends cars. Everything i've seen come out of that place is top notch.

Why are you looking for a shop? What are you looking to have done? I like Tuning Technologies the best.

I'll have to talk with dan about this when i see him next week. No use sticking with only one side of the story.

You don't have a problem with this do you?

No need to talk to Dan, i don't really care. it happened a while ago. I'm not saying he is a bad tuner. He just didn't listen to what i want and i have to force to drive home with a lot of knock.

There's only three shops I'd recommend, and they are Road Race Engineering, SP Engineering, and Tuning Technologies. They are all overqualified to do whatever you need to have done, have fast cars themselves, and as known to make great power.

me and 3 of my friends had bad experience with Harman Motiv. First of all my Defi Guages were spliced in and not bridged in. Had an oil pump that kept dropping below normal was told by Dan that I had bad oil pump over and over. I took to my car to my friends place and Harman motive wired in the oil pump defi guages and wasn't pushing the correct voltage. My friend luckily fixed that problem without charging me. I ordered a carbon fiber guage pod instead i was given a cheap plastic one and charged for it. My friend had his oil pump and turbo installed incorrectly. I dont think Dan is a bad tuner.
