My cars out of comission also, but you can be shure ill be there once im done!
Clutch started slipping due to too much power (WOT in high gear W clutch engaged it would slip)
so i decided to pull it. i was quite suprised to see a disc with prob another 15k+ of life, but a cooked Pres plate & Flywheel..
the car didnt see the drag strip much & i know i put enough use into it to smell it on several occasions, but this flywheel looks like its seen some serious abuse..... leading me to wonder if its been slipping for some time now & i just hadnt noticed until i started tuning with 100 octane recently
i think if it was bad driving the disc would show more wear for roughly 45k miles, & i doubt its agressive driving as i am very easy on my car (well, maybe not the tires, lol)


im putting on a Tilton Cerametallic but i had to order some clutch discs for it since i purchased this clutch quite a while ago & they now have an updated design with hardened hubs with more spline engagment area. unfortunatly tilton wasnt offering any exchange or even a discount despite the fact the discs were new & unused. luckily they weren't too expensive @ just over 200$ but still disappointing (anyone want to buy some tilton discs that chew up the input shaft? lol)
Trans & T/C are going to Shep for a Quaife & prob the longer 1st gear from the IX as well as the usual tweaks & upgrades
since i have the subframe out also taking this time to install the whiteline Roll center adjustment kit & Steering Precision Kit. also putting in some enegry susp. bushings in the lower control arm & swaybar....

7.732 ET @ 91.84 mph w/1.754 60ft (tires spinning hardcore)...not to shabby for my stock looking engine bay huh guys (for those that went out)!
Sucks that the bulk of my power is down low (between 40xx rpms and 50xx rpms but i only get to use 55xxrpms and higher at the track) I think its time to go bigger..something that can hold boost better, longer...but it wont be with this car...i need to get my hands on an Evo IX....oh yeah!
This setup is perfect for those that auto cross, etc...not for the strip...

hey guys im trying to go wingless so my wing is for sale... its off of my 05 evo8 thats tarmac black...trying to sell the wing for 350obo... its in great condition with no flaking clear coat at all... i would also accept a black lancer trunk with no hols for a wing PLUS CASH for my whole trunk plus the wing... let me know if you guys know anyone that wants to replace their tired and beat up wing... send me pm's if you're interested... thanks guys!
