Thumbs down Warning about Poway Mitsu in San Diego

Went there this morning to buy Diaqueen LSD for the transfercase, parts guy says they've never heard of it, don't sell it. Then asked the mechanics what they used to fill the rear diffs and transfer cases of Evos and they said we just use 80-90 gear oil from big drums and they told me I could just get some at Kragen down the street

Just a warning for the San Diego folk that get their cars serviced there, either bring your own lube or don't bring it there at all.

I just drove down to el cajon to get the fluid, it's about the same distance for me either way to el cajon or carlsbad. The parts guy down at el cajon seemed knowledgable enough to ask not only car, but which transmission 5 or 6 spd and specifically for transfer case or transmission so at least they know that much.

Tell us how it goes with whichever dealer you go to for service, always good to know if one place is better than the other

Those guys dont know jack over there. I used to buy parts over there when I had my GVR-4 (moved almost a year ago from beautiful San Diego :-( ) and they never had a clue as to what I wanted. My buddy bought an 04 RS there and never got any good service from the m...If he needs anything he just shot over to the El Cajon shop.....they're alot better.

El Cajon tried to charge me 90+ bux for an oil change because it is syntetic oil. Bought the 7 dollar oil filter and left.

The Post

I bought my Evo 8 and 9 from Poway Mits. They are awsome guys. Service wise they can't keep poeple, but the sales experience was good. I know here in the Valley where I live, they took a customers Evo 8 (a friend of mine's car) and raced it up and down the street. My friend took a short film of it on his cell phone, showed the GM of the dealer, and those two guys packed their too boxes that day and got fired. So, its hard to find a good dealer anywhere. Same thing goes for all makes though, not just Mits. Customer service now a days just plain sucks. So I try to do as much of the work myself. Try to anyway. Well, take it easy guys, and thands for the heads up on the Poweay Mits service.

80-90 bucks an oil change is normal for most dealers... why wouldn't you do it yourself anyways? get some mobil 1 or some royal purple (which is awesome **** by the way) and a mobil 1 filter and call that **** good... takes 15 minutes if you're slow... i had an awesome buying experience from el cajon mitsu, the sales manager there drives a WW evo 9 thats all done up with perrin stuff... they know their evos..

My brother works for PETCO and says there is a GG in his lot, is this you. I have a GG in Detroit that I let him drive. I don't think he has had a better day in his life. Hopefully next summer I am going to drive it cross country, maybe meet up with some SD EVOs.
