Need Some Help From the Las Vegas Guys

I got a small problem. I'm worried about emissions :-\. Can anyone help me out with shedding some light on this.

I have no CEL's
I don't have a cat either.

I noticed some people in another thread just saying that as long as you don't smoke and the ECU doesn't push any CELs then you are fine... is that really true?

If you go anyplace in North Las Vegas, pretty much and look around for one of the low-budget smog places, they'll normally let you slide without a visual inspection. There is one on LV Blvd and Cheyenne that all I did (in my other car before the Evo) was pull in, he checked for CEL and told me I passed. No visual inspection, didn't put that wand in the tailpipe, nothing.

Just a thought

I disagree. The smoke is something to consider but not neccesarily can make you fail emissions. I have taken many smoky cars into the emissions and passed with flying colors.

The visual inspection performed by the emissions inspectors with side mirrors oriented at 45 degrees angle will reveal that you are not in compliance.

You might get away on the iddle test but I am sure it will fail on the midrange rpm test however it really depends, here in AZ don't have awd rollers therefore you only do iddle testing.

Good luck.

Carlos

From my experience, they just plug into your OBD II port now. I have never had anybody actually do an under the car visual inspection on the car. So as long as you aren't throwing a CEL, you should be alright. You never know though.
