What are you guys/gals using for actual injectable, where do you source, which alky kit, what size nozzle, what %, and any other info that might be useful in my battle with ACN91.

Thanks,

Hi Jim,

This is Carlos, i am the one that sold you the cams. Please pm me, I will give you all the info, I have been running alcohol/methanol for a couple of years and know all the local places and can get you the best prices as well.

I can also get you a SMC kit from a local Evo 8 owner which is about to sell it. Please pm me for more details.

I am giving you my cell number on a pm now. By the way, dynoflash will be in town, this is a great oportunity to get your car tune by a master that specializes on alcohol tuning, do not miss it.

Carlos

Do you use alky or meth? Do most of you use it straight? Mixed with H2O? What precentage? Where is the best place to buy? Which size nozzle? Which injection system?

Thanks,
Jim
Jim,

a number # 7 nozzle will be plenty for you. I have done 20 plus dyno pulls with all configurations (alcohol,methanol,number#7, number # 10) plus I got custom tuned 3 times during the process(in the last 18 months) and found absolutely no difference on performance.

In addition to that I also tested the results at two different tracks(SIR and Firebird) and still did not get any significant noticeable difference at all.

Based striclty on my personal experience and based on my own car set up, I suggest you go for a number #7 nozzle and 100 % pure alcohol, 100 pure methanol or a mixture of water alcohol or methanol alcohol with porcentages around 80meth-20 water or 80alcohol-20 water.

It is up to you but I did suficient testing on my own and I find the number #7 nozzle to be a good compromise between performance and safety.

I am currently running a nuber #7 on my Eclipse GSX with astonishing results: similar power than my ex-Evo 8 MR.

The rule of thumb is to at least take the advise of someone that lives in the same area and already tried different set ups for a while with flwless reliability and performance and zero mechanical failures.

Carlos
