Top Tuner Q

I'm looking for a top-notch load dyno 91 octane tune. Who would you all say is the top flash tuner in AZ, CA, or NV who does not lock their tunes?

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but it is my understanding that a DynoJet does not apply as much load as the real world. Consequently, many EVOs tuned on a DJ end up with knock when driven on the street.

I'd actually prefer what ever kind of dyno provides the most load. I understand that to be - Mustang, Dyna-Pack, or Dyno-Dynamics - and probably some others I've missed.

I do appreciate the offer, James.

a dyno is a tuning tool.... u should use the same dyno every time... when tuned on a mustang or dj or dd it shouldnt matter.

personally I would not tune on a dyno jet... the wheels are spinning at slightly different speeds on a dynojet..

Of the readily known tuners on the board, the person I like the most is Razorlab (tunes for GST motorsports in Hayward, CA). He spends a lot of time on the EcuFlash forums and is very upfront with information. Plus he's on top of most of the patches floating around so he can set you up with a GM 3 port solenoid and direct boost control. I'm not saying there aren't other good tuners around the state but it's really easy to see this guy is up to date and forthright with information which is a rarity in that field. Your setup isn't particularly oddball so if you want to PM me I can recommend some people in Phoenix who can handle things for you.

I'd really like to get tuned by Mike at Mynes; he was one of original code-crackers of the EVO ECU and certainly knows his stuff. However, Mike locks his tunes and claims the tune belongs to him. I guess I'd call that rent-a-tune.

I would think you would want to get tuned at the same elevation, as Tucson. Might make a difference with who you choice.
