E85 tuners - step up and be counted!

I've been giving a lot of thought to an E85 tune, so I thought I'd make a thread to consolidate all the E85 tuners for future reference.

I'll make additional categories as needed - in-shop dyno flash tunes, email flash tunes, other ECUs, etc.

Shop tunes - OEM ECU reflash:

Road Race Engineering - Santa Fe Springs/Los Angeles County, CA Stages and dyno chart

AMS - West Chicago, IL EvoM Sponsor

English Racing - Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA EvoM Sponsor

Awd Motorsports - Coral Springs, FL EvoM Sponsor

DB Performance - Rogers, MN

Shop tunes - other:

Road Race Engineering - Santa Fe Springs/Los Angeles County, CA - AEM ECU

Buschur Racing - Wakeman, OH - AEM ECU EvoM Sponsor

PURE Tuning - Toledo, OH - AEM ECU (second graph) EvoM Sponsor

Awd Motorsports - Coral Springs, FL - AEM ECU EvoM Sponsor

DB Performance - Rogers, MN - AEM ECU

OK, who am I missing? Don't be bashful!

Buschur will tune E85 as well, but I think he likes using the AEM.

Pegasus, point me to a BR tuned E85 thread and I'll add it. EvoM won't allow searching for "BR".

I did search for "buschur e85" and got nothing.

I'll dig around and see what I can find, but I know they tune it. I have a friend that was tuned by them on e85 on his GT35R setup. They've also tuned an Evo on e85 and meth injection!

I have somebody up here in Boise, ID that does a good job. He just got done tuning Dan Bajalas's car and tuned mine as well. His shop is called JMTuning. However, if you are looking for somebody local, I know when I lived in Arizona I went to a place called Dynocomp in Scottsdale. They seemed to be very professional and knew what they were doing. When I was tuned there it was on gasoline. I am not positive they deal with alcohol. Of course the person here in Idaho tuned me for E85, so I know he does.

I'm familiar with DynoComp. I had my turbo Miata on their dyno years ago when there were no dynos in Tucson.

DynoComp lists 9 different car brands that they work on, but Mitsu is not one of them.

I am almost positive they tuned my evo. I can't remember now, because I had a dynoflash to begin with. I can't remember if I paid them to switch it to ECUTek or not, but they had the capability, I know that. You would have to call them to ensure they work on AEMs. The guy that tunes there is a mechanical engineer so I am sure he has learned AEM by now.

Wait a second, I don't even know what engine management you are using, I just assumed AEM.

RRE http://www.roadraceengineering.com/ can do flash, AEM EMS, ECUtek as well as other engine management systems either street or tune on their Dynapack. They've been tuning numerous cars on E85 Since November 2007. I think they'll be doing an Evo X in the very near future.

They even got a neat setup when the ECU detects a pre-determined amount of knock on E85, a water injection system will kick in to provide some protection.

They suck at website design though :P

References?

I searched their respective web sites, nadda. I searched EvoM, nadda.

Please point me to an E85 tune thread, or a web site link.

I think it is usually safe to assume any EvoM member is using the ECU, unless otherwise stated of course.

Is the W/I primarily a tuning function? IOW, is it tuned that close to significant knock? Or, is the W/I simply a precaution against getting stuck with a tankful of
E70, for example?

I think the W/I was already installed a year prior to the E85 tune. So, instead of ditching the W/I system, they decided to put it to good use. I think they just use it as a form of additional protection if its ever needed.

If this is the case then I am pretty sure Dynocomp can tune your car. I know they have ECUTek for evos.
