Freeway dragstrip

Is it me or does anyone else treat the onramps for freeways or interstates as a personal dragstrip? Especially the onramps for the loop 202 and 101 in the Phoenix area. If I am first in the turning lane for the onramps and that green arrow comes on, I'm quickly away down the onramp

I'm sure some guys will just flame you and tell you to keep it on the track but everyone has mashed the gas in their Evo at some point on the road. Honestly my Evo is a my daily driver (80mile) roundtrip to work and back....and I usually do 65mph. But there are times like on ramps that if there's no traffic I'll get on it for a short burst of adrenaline.

Yeah all I'm talking about it just the onramp before merging with the other traffic lanes. My evo is my daily driver with about a 60 mile round trip but ever once in while I just have to go! Afterwards its back to the posted speed limit on the freeway and just cruise home or where ever.

Yes I am with the same User Name but I haven't logged on in a while. Last time I was on it, it didn't seem as if it was getting any updates from other users or new posts, etc. I might have to log on and see. Have you or anyone that you know of been out to that event at Fulton Ranch in Chanlder? The first event was held last Friday but haven't heard to much of the outcome.

I am guilty- I have a 70mph freeway to get on everyday- I hate people who get on going 40 and then look at me stupid when I blow past

they're the worst....they impede traffic that way. As mentioned before I usually follow the speed limit.....and it's funny because I'm always seeing riced out cars pass me wondering why the hell I'm driving this performance car so slow.... well partly because it's the law and well....let's be honest the gas mileage blows on our cars. Consumer Reports rated it the worst MPG small car in the U.S.

+2.
I hear ya on that one.
My missus hates it though and I always get an ear bashing form her when she is in the car and we get onto the highway.

And as for taking it to the track...well, you're not actually racing anyone...you're just getting up to the same speed (or slightly faster) as the flow of traffic on the hiughway.

Yeah I get the same but lets face it, those ricer monkeys just don't know. And with the price of gas going up and up, can't always have the gas pedal all the way down but for just a little while on the onramp doesn't hurt much.

Exactly my point! So what we can get up to the posted speed limit in mere seconds.
