Hi everyone. i was wondering if i can ask some of you Hawaiian car enthusiasts a favor. i'm going to be on the islands from November 18th to November 30th and was hoping that someone could take me for a ride on some twisty canyon roads? i really want to ship my car over there for my stay, but it's just not going to be worth it for the price and time involved, so i'll probably just rent something over there to drive on those roads. However, that something will most likely be slow and crappy and i would appreciate it if i could experience those roads riding in something like an Evo or some other great handling car. i'll pay gas and buy you lunch/dinner if you'd like.

to clarify: i'm NOT asking to drive your car, just to ride shotgun.

also, if there are any car meets and what not, i would like to check them out as well, so please pass the info on.

wow no bites huh? where's the aloha spirit? I was hoping there would be some replies because I will also be in Hawaii very very soon and wanted tips on if there were any good car clothing shops. The only one I know of is ****en Fast but I dont know if its still around. I'll bring some JDM EGO stuff if you local guys and/or girls post!!!

i was supposed to be working at Pearl Harbor and/or Kauaii. although right now it looks like the higher ups put my trip on hold. i might still end up there in the spring 08 or this year, after my supervisor tries to put in his word.
hopefully i'll get to go and check out the local scene.

if you looking for a good place to test your suspension,kohala mountain road one the big island is the best place.Better be good or you go straight of the mountain.wink wink.remember now HAWAII DOES HAVE COPS!!!

 

Straight up Initial D style, gotta check out Tantalus Drive in Honolulu, great drive without having to speed(lotta cops anyway), I'll say at least over 15 hairpins, lol.... you can also get a good view of the whole Ala Moana/Wakiki side with the Diamond head Moutain...

 

Waimea Canyon Road on Kauai is a FUN drive and the Big Island has some of the best driving roads in the islands, imo.
On Oahu the cops are bad. I don't even try.

Bring a Valentine 1 for added awareness.
