Hey all,
I recently sold my 2000 RS w/ wrx conversion and now I am looking to buy an EVO in SF Bay Area. But most of the dealerships are charging over $5k of markup. To me this is unacceptable!!! I talked to a few guys at Captiol Mitsu in san jose, but they were being jerks and not willing to sell at MSRP.
Can you guys give me some pointers where I should go besides capitol mitsu?
Thanks!

Did you talk to them on the phone or in person? Have you tried Stevens Creek? Walk in and tell them what you're willing to pay (serious offer) and take it from there.
In a lot of cases the mark-up is there to divert the Fast and Furious crowd, it's all about negotiation.

have u tried hayward mitsu...i heard that they were selling it at MSRP...but i am not sure if they are or if they have any evo's left...but i do remember that i saw a sunday ad like 2 weeks ago saying that they have 5 evo's...
El Cerrito Mitsubishi - #1 Service Center
I recommend El Cerrito Mitsubishi. Why are they the best? They can do ANY type of mods or upgrades. They don't really care about warranty issues. No issues for them. IF you want to hear this directly from them, then call them. El Cerrito Mitsu has two Evos for sale. I think you can get an excellent deal on one of them. Speak to Bruce Kavich (ka-vish), President, by calling his direct line: (510) 992-2026. Call Randy Kuwatani, Director of Parts and Service, to inquire about OEM and aftermarket mods and upgrades. Randy's direct line: (510) 992-2035.
Please mention that Stewart from Team SLAM gave you the information.

Thank you guys!
I think I will go check out El Cerrito Mitsu first because I live right by it.. I didn't know they have EVOs there.. didn't see one when I went last time!
I will check out Hayward as well!

There are quite a few dealers willing to do at or under MSRP even in Bay Area. You can check out the following thread for more info:

For my case, I got mine at Concord at MSRP.
As for picking either Evo or STi, if you are in to straight line acceration, go for STi, if you perfer better handling feel, I'd suggest Evo. Also, STi is more expensive and does not come with stereo system, plus Subaru is much more **** about modified cars comparing with Mitsubishi.
Hope that helps.

I just bought mine from El Cerrito Mitus.. I didn't get the EVO w/ the option I wanted. Long story short, the EVO I originally intended to buy were all keyed up by some jackass!!!! So I ended up taking the one w/ buncha dealer accessories at a great price.
