I just wanted to pass along some info about Kalealoa Raceway Park's progress in building us a Motorsports Park. If you guys haven't heard, there is already a sand drag built and also a rally style dirt track built. Pavement track is in the works but money and politics is involved. Please visit http://www.kalaeloaracewaypark.com/i...dates&Itemid=3 and show your support.

If you guys haven't been here that long, we use to have Hawaii Raceway Park at Campbell Industrial but it closed around 2005/06 due to lease and land dispute.... when we had the super ferry some of us use to go to Maui and use their track but they got rid of that also.

Pavement will take a while at KRP. Lots of issues involved as Dennis mentioned. They are having their second car cruise event on Saturday, August 18. The first event they did was highly attended and they expect this one to be even bigger! Great opportunity to see the track up close.

Right now dirt is cheap and easy so that's all they have. At least with the Sand Drags, they actually bought a real timing system so you can actually get reaction time, elapsed time, 60 ft., MPHS, etc. But it is short compared to a full quarter. My STi (Rally set-up) was running in the low 5's which was respectable relative to all the 4wd trucks.

We also have a RallyX on Sunday August 19 (following day) if anyone is interested. Clearly its not for street EVO's but its still fun. Let me know if want to stop by at Rally and I can take you for a spin in a Suby.

Also, this Saturday is HulaX which is pretty interesting to watch. It's a wheel to wheel event with 3 classes, Truck, SUV, and Cars. There is usually about 6 cars participating (I should be running in a beat-up Forester). Lots of banging and usually a bit entertaining.

Let me know if you have any questions about the KRP events! Thanks, Dav

So based on another shop renting their dyno they are a decent shop? Lol, whatever bro, think about what you are saying..

As for an alignment, funny that they tried to align my denali prior to recon and couldn't get in factory specs... Then tried to tell me that it wasn't lowered right... Which is bull**** since it was on a mcgaughy kit at the time... Went to Goodyear.. Tada in 5 mins it was within factory specs and passed recon..bottomland, like I said before.. They are a shop that lives because of their dyno..but in the very near future there will be another (probably right after the new year supposedly) so we enthusiasts will have a better option.

So Scott, I suggest wrenching on the car yourself and if not there are plenty of evo guys that love to meet up and help out. If not just know that you could be at the mercy of people that have no f*cking clue what they are doing.. It's a big change from the mainland for sure!

Aloha! I remember that raceway very well! I used to go there on Friday nights to watch the cars run. I lived out there from 2004-2009. Man, I really miss living out there... I would have loved to have had a dirt rally track. I lived in Kalaeloa at the old Barbers Point military housing. Always had brush fires out there lol. Now, I'm in Maryland and really hate it here. I am hoping one day to be back out there. The Super Ferry was always having issues with protestors and I kinda figured they would shut down. Just wanted to give you guys an aloha and an e-shaka

What I'm saying is that he can get dyno tuned on the island by a very reputable shop like AMS, but the dyno service will be from Rads (currently the only AWD dyno on the island). And there was no problem with this set-up.

I'm glad you shared your personal experience, bro. I am just sharing mine.

I'm from pa originally, depending on where in Ny you are from it's pretty similar actually... My wife is from Honolulu and when I took her back to Philly she was shocked at home prices and how high they were!

Alright guys, I know that the last two meets had a pretty good turn out, but I know there are plenty more evos that were not in attendance due to work schedule, family events, and other unplanned errands that came up.
Id like to get an opinion from as many people as possible on when the next meet should be.
Right off the bat, Im shooting for Saturday August 18th. About 11am. That way we can all roll down to this event!

I try to coordinate meets very two weeks. Twice a month.
Some times there are last minute meets.
But I try to keep them biweekly.

Also, if anyone is looking to get their car tinted, let me know. I carry everything down to 5% to include ceramic.
I will give all Evo owners a discount including other cars you may own. Please PM me to schedule an appointment!
