Since the story seems to be a little blurry.....my car has a stock bottom end with AFR heads that raise compression to 10.5-1. With the cam i have and the other mods, i need to run a minimum of 100 octane with anything above 6psi. The car that night was on the 6psi pulley and about 80% pump gas 20% 100 octane. With that combo i have to drop timing a bunch and make a few other tuning changes to get the best gas mileage. The car still runs strong regardless. I'd say on that tune it's still in the neighborhood of 400rwhp. Normally it's in the 500+range so you can see the difference.

If you would've seen the runs from behind that night i'm sure it would also be very clear. I was all over the place on that road. Against the Porsche i got into the turn lane for a little bit as i was sliding around. Not fun at 100 mph!

 

By "race gas" i mean 100 octane so that really doesn't count. I have yet to run the car with any real "race gas". I'm getting a drum of 110 octane soon so i can try it out.....that should be real fun! Drag radials are the norm when your pushing any kind of power out of a Mustang. The street tires are there for my girl to drive it and the boost gets turned down so she doesn't get too crazy.

So see it's not quite as extreme now that it's put that way right? The car is still full weight with every factory option still intact. No spool in the rear or drag brakes. No weight reduction has been done at all. It's still 100% streetable.....hell it even passed smog

 

I'd like to see it tuned then

 

What have you run at the drags with that setup?

Makes a little more sense. I run 100 octane full time in my car and dont really consider it race gas.

 

Just make sure you make it back home or Ill fly over there and kick your ***.

no zone is safe, so you put on as much as bullet proof cloth. then again u make a small target
