Thanks, Mark. It does make sense and a waste of money unless a new turbo is incorporated. I guess a new front mount would look good but not give any gains. It's funny some vendors claim 20 or more WHP gains with a new core and pipes.

The only thing that I would bring up is with the summer heat here soring over 100 every day, a bigger IC would provide better cooling of thr intake air over the stock core. But in cooler weather like now, it would not provide additional cooling.

Increased air flow does not mean you need a retune. Retunes are mainly when you mess up a/f readings making your car run lean or rich. You can always use a tune for a increase in power but nothing as major as installing cams or injectors. I guess I'm saying it's not as important to tune for a fmic as it is for cams and fuel efficiency.

That's cool that Mark replied to the local thread

No I'm new to the evo forums. Dont have one yet but will be getting one as soon as I'm done paying off some debt .... guessing around Feb is when I should get mine. Still debating on getting the MR or a sound/sun GSR.

Let me know when you guys have meets, I'll roll out for sure! Also if you guys want to shoot video and go on some rides I know of a real cool canyon road, and I'll roll in the 350Z my dad and I share.

i didn't notice to much of whp gains with the fmic i have.i did notice the my car ran alot cooler on the streets, and track.egt tells all that was cool to see turbotrix post up in our thread. maybe we should look into that custom flash trip a little harder now.lil'evilevo & myself are going to go to one of these custom tunes going down in nov/dec.either the dynoflash one or the turbotrix one.there both $300 bones.i'll start the list.

John and Casey, you guys getting cams? I want them but would it be better to build the top end from the start with cams, cam gears, valves, springs, retainers and studs all at once? I'd hate to open it up again and pay more money.

I want a smooth idle and no stalling issues. Plus I'd hate to kill the resale value of this car by putting cams. All the other mods can be switched out easily. But cams are the next step in more power. We have basically all the bolt-ons and tune. I don't know, I hit a fork in the road here.

I'm sure LDL can build the top end and even tune it until you get a full dyno tune.

I want cams for power and sound. I would not buy anything with cams besides headstuds and injectors. I'm not even do injectors right away.

i'm going HKS 264 for now.wanted the juns, but after more research, and more posting,i found out that jun 264 will be to much for the stock turbo/ecu i want the juns, but i have to wait until i upgrade to a stand alone/bigger turbo.
which will be sometime next year.gonna buy the 264cams,headstuds,either 660cc,680cc,or 720cc injectors(not sure which ones yet),ams lower ic piping, and some type of upper ic piping.then custom tune it.thats at least 335 whp i think.maybe i'll break 12s after that no problem.......i think

How about those falcons anyway you should be at 340 to 350 whp with a good tune no problem even with 91 $hit gas. Now with 100oct ad say 24 to 25psi you would be around 380 or so
