you realy dont need a boost gauge to adjust a BOV. all your looking for is a low amount or no commperssor surge, no stalling and thats about it. as long as the car runs good and you arnt getting a mad amount of compressor surge your good to go.
LMAO, I know it does ha,, I don't know what has gotten into me asking **** I don't need to ask about.
I will try to make next meeting, seem clueless when you look back at all my dumb questions.

It seems like a whole lot of air is kicked out when the bov goes off it sounds like a mini bomb going off in the engine compartment, but the car pulls like crazy with hardly any turbo lag between gears, it makes me think that maybe I was leaking boost before the greddy recirculated bov.

Compressed air from the turbo is reflected back towars the turbo when your throttle is closed. your BOV or DV stops the air from making it back to the turbo. if air makes it back you hear a flutter sound and in some extreme cases you can destroy your turbo. The compressor wheel actually trys to spin the wrong way when you get surge. HKS SSQV is notorious for causing a little surge with the evo.
your greddy may be holding more boost thats why it feels stronger..if you dont have a 9 then your stock dv was most likely leaking(plastic dv sucks). when you say you are revving is that at a stop??? if so that may be why your getting shakeing. idel is bad enough with most bov, revving then blowing off may make your car shake because it is wanting that extra air you just vta'd. Good luck
The car idles as good as it did before, the car pulls harder, and yes the car was parked with my hood open in my garage when I noticed the pipe moving kinda hard , I was reving the shhht out of it to hear the bov, but I suppose a second opinion from a fellow evo owner would be nice, just in case, like Manny says I should head to the meetins cause it may be that I just need some help adjusting my bov.
