Unless someone proves me otherwise, I'm forced to believe it is some sort of special treatment.

Sorry to the mods for adding fuel to the fire, but I think I'm proposing a valid question.
Or not to call other people out ... but what about all the vids of the AMS black evo racing cobras, srt4s, cameros, ect? Those where posted on here and where left on the site for quite a while ...

Or how about the AMS evo (silver one) running a muck in the streets of chi town?

Oh snap! You guys just got called out.

That's a valid question, and I'll offer some possibilities but don't know the answer for sure.

1) the theads could have been handled by different mods, one being more strict. I myself admit that I rarely use the zero tolerance policy, but send a friendly warning instead... especially since I can't band anyone (I'd have to PM a supermod asking for it)

2) The mod handling these issues decided that VBoy had already worn out his warnings while 4Tun8 hasn't (new, naive, rare infraction, whatever)

3) It is possible that there is a double standard, although I would like to think that my asociates try their best to be unbiased.

Anyone who was highly active in this forum about 1-2 years ago knows why the strict policy. People started getting out of hand. Scamming in the for sale forum, flame wars, vendor wars, newbie bashing. The owner and mods decided to try and clean that up. As a teacher, I can tell you it's 100x harder to fix a problem than to avoid it in the first place, hence the hard crackdown trying to get back to normal. Sorry if that stifles anyone flamboyant personalities.

The owner of the site should have a meeting with all you guys anc clearly go over rules ... it seems some mods are making up their own rules in a sense. He/Shw should also go over what type of punishments are expected with what types of infractions .... thats what I did with all my mods on my old site www.clubg35.com back in the day.

As you can see above in your own post ... all mods are not on the same page .... THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM ... jsut like you dont want some people calling all mods names becuase of the actions of some ...you need to understand that your automaticlly guilty by association.

I've been told that VBoy had already received a warning for such actions. If I'm incorrect, my apologies. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but I teach at a school where students think they can have 100 "second" chances. What is this world coming to? But once again, I don't know if there is favoritism going on here. I try not to do that, but in this case you'd have to ask the mod who banned him (3 days isn't that bad is it?) and see if he did similar actions with other members.

Keep in mind you can't compare different members' cases, as they were probably handled by different mods. That's like getting pulled over for speeding and getting mad at cop 1 because cop 2 let your friend off the hook. One is more lenient, so someone got lucky. But once again, I don't know if that's the case. Just pointing out that you might be comparing apples to oranges.

That's one of the reasons regular mods can't ban people anymore. That way, there's less people making the capitol punishment decision. I like it that way. If I have a concern, I make a thread in the mod forum and let the supers sort it out. most of us communicate on a weekly basis in the mod forum, but I think the problem is that some of us have too much heart to implement the current "zero tolerance" policy. Once again, keep in mind this mod job is free. Most of us have paying jobs and obligations that are priority to policing a bunch of whiny internet junkies. With that said, I'm off for the night. Sorry if you don't like the way this site is run, sorry if you think all of us mods are the same. I hope it will get better as we get the major issues from 2 years past under control and we will be able to loosen up.

I'd have to agree that not all the mods are on the same page with the rules. Of the numerous examples that came to mind, the one I listed and the ones M3This listed are merely the tip of the iceberg. On different days, different mods give different punishments for the same exact violation.

Also, it may be possible that Vboy had worn out the patience of some of the mods, but to be quite candid, he is a pretty mellow guy. I haven’t really seen him doing anything that has insulted anyone, and I have never seen him banned for anything in the past before. So, it would astonish me if this were the case.

If you would like the zero tolerance rules followed as set forth by the owner of the site then your are asking me to go back and change the bans to a full week?
Read the rules and the zero tolerance policy and I don't think you would be in such a rush to get your friends more time off then they got.

They are not. I banned vboy because the video was reported for it's content.
As previously stated, I felt the video depicted illegal street activity with the donuts to top it off. It was my decision and I don't know vboy from adam and I don't care.
No street racing threads is posted all over this forum!

No one get's special treatment on this site. Whatever you perceive is in your own mind. Like urbanknight stated, different mods do things differently.

Thats the PROBLEM ...

Y not just delete the link? Why not delete the thread? there is no reason for a ban ... its not street racing ... you didnt know if the donuts where on private property or not ... you dont live here in Vegas and know where any of the footage is filmed ... on top of it you can even tell if they are speeding ... did you notice that the film was sped up? becuase it was.

Pretty much all they did was mount a camera to the back of on the the cars and follow the other around .... the footage was shot in a area where old retired people live and they drive like 25 mph when the speed limit is way higher ... the donuts are older footage and are on private property and not the streets ... so actually your idea of streetracing and doing illegal activity is just plain WRONG

You miss the point entirely. Maybe to the handful of people who "know" there are 30,000 other members who see excessive speed and donuts. It's that simple.
I also very much doubt that the LVPD would view the video as legal and I am willing to bet that the Luxor hotel management approved them doing donuts in the parking garage.

The fact is the thread was deleted and he was banned, all the complaining in the world is not going to change that.

What does that have to do with anything? Do you have any idea how many mods here don't drive a lancer or an evo?
