Las Vegas Evo's
Looking for John
Vegas Evo's,
I may have met some of you this weekend at the Tuner Shootout. My name is Patrick with the black Evo VII. I was looking for John with the Red Evo. John if you read this can you please pm me your info. I forgot to get it before we left home after the Shootout. If anyone could help me that would be great.
It was great meeting all of you guys. Didn't know there was such a big pinoy crowd with Evos in Vegas. I will definitely have to come back to hang out and do an event with you guys Auto-x or track.
All I have to say is Spring Mountain is a bad *** track. especially the 3.5 mi config.
Thanks,
Patrick

This is kinda tough to explain I guess...basically it works like this. When the ecu thinks the engine is knocking, it pulls fuel. Most of the time it just pulls a little bit at a time to counter the knock, and when it goes away, it puts the fuel back in. This is your octane flag when we log. If the octane flag is at 100, that means its running purely off the high octane maps. If the octane flag has degraded, it interpolates between the low octane map to add fuel and take away timing. This is why having your high/low maps the same is taking safety away and why we flame Al to kingdom come.
In your particular case, the octane flag is degraded SOO much, that its at 0. That means its reading solely out of the low octane maps, like you had a bad tank of gas. The reason it is doing that is because it is mistaking that clutch chatter as knock. Theres not other way to put it man, that sums it up right there. Theres nothing we can do about it until you get that clutch to shut the hell up lol. Seriously, a single plate should not be making noise AT ALL. Hell even twin plates dont make that much noise, which is why people that run twins dont have this problem either. That thing sounds like someone is taking a hammer to your tranny when you shift. The ecu is not happy about that, so it pulls all your fuel.
