If its not throwing a CEL, then it will pass smog like Manny said. Pretty sure they dont hook up the sniffer to our cars, just plug in OBD port and read the codes. If all checks out in ecu, your done and good to go. Someone else that has done a smog can verify that they dont put the sniffer in exhaust, I was exempt still last year.

Also, if you really want to take the test pipe off and bolt the cat on, just get under there and do it. Its 4 bolts man, easy swap. Or, you can have someone put the cat on a couple days prior, go get smogged, then have them put the TP back on. It doesnt need to be done AT the smog shop.

 

It will pass with the test pipe as long as there is no engine light, unless you get an **** smog guy that looks under your car. Took my 8 to get smogged with the test pipe twice and passed both times.

You can feel it trickle down your arm and start to burn. Burns down your arm. Since I've been here, I've had 2 anthrax, 3 hep b's, a typhoid, and the flu shot. Probably got a few more coming before I leave.

You get told to fix it and come back. I failed smog with my sexy *** Datsun and passed a week later. No fines at all. Your EVO will pass, don't sweat it.

Im not in law enforcement/probation anymore so getting out of tickets for street racing and speeding aint likely. I took a twentyfive hundred dollar hit for speedcontest ticket after lawyer fees and fines a month after buying the IX. That sucked the fun out of having another evo and damaged my modding bankroll.

I will likely just do a highflow cat or testpipe and tune on the IX after Xmas. Not looking to rule the streets just have a lil more speed. Leave that ruling the streets for the young bucks like James,Alex(V-boy),Manny,Boostn etc
