Cops will not pull you over just for the exhaust they will look for another reason. They have better things to do here. I just got pulled over a week ago. I was just told he could ticket me for my exhaust but would not.

Regardless whether it was a V6 or the last generation turdbo, they both are slow stock wise. Guy probably had a JDM tyte muffler and BOV so he can "sound" fast.
