Moving to LAS VEGAS...maybe (help)

So i just graduated college, cant decide what I really want to do....but I really want to to get in the entertainment biz (Night Clubs) and I figure no better place to learn it all than Las Vegas. (I have some night club experience already)

also wouldt mind getting a 9-5 full time job
and if anyone is hiring out there I have a B.S. Criminal Justice, 6 years in Army, (non-professional) IT background.

So a few questions for my Las Vegas people...

1) How do the jobs look out there?

2) Where do I want to live? I plan on working somewhere on the strip, but I want a safe place. I am looking for a 1 bedroom Apt (or if anyone needs a roommate ) around $600/month.

and any other information you can tell me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the info,
Andrew

Vegas isnt exactly a job Mecca, but i dont know very much about the Entertainment Industry here....

I've looked into the LEO thing and C.O.s and cops start out at 55k a year here, but I heard they were doing budget cuts as well. I'm actually going house shopping today, the internet has some decent apartment deals.

Not North Las Vegas. Well it depends on what side of north las vegas. Northwest is cool. NorthEast isn't a good idea. Best side of town is West(Summerlin).

Nevada has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country right now.,as well as the highest rate of forclosure. Honestly, it's not the BEST place to live right now, but I still enjoy it.

So I want to look for stuff on the west side of town.

Mainly i want to go because I want to learn as much as I can about the club biz. I want to be a club owner a few years from now and I figure there is not a better place to learn, I figure now would be a good time to go out and get some jobs at casinos and be there ready for the summer time.

If you can afford it yes. But Southwest is also very nice, and closer to the strip. With your degree, you might be able to get a nice Security job at a casino. Not rent-a-cop,but the security you see walking around in suits or in the surveillance rooms. You'll have to work your way up. As far as actually OWNING a club..Well if you're on the strip, you'll probably need millions. hahaha. I can't afford a brick with my name on it on the strip. It's a tough town for work if you don't know anyone, but that degree will come in handy,as well as the military background.

Nice places to live, basically stay along the 215. And then anywhere South of where it connects with the 95 (Henderson/Boulder City)

In Texas they just plug into OBDII.....I dont have a cat, but I dont have a check engine light....will this be an issue?

and it looks in moving to Enterprise, NV? how is that?

Depends on which smog place you go to. Some stick a mirror under the car to look for the cat. Typically, they'll just scan for codes. Enterprise is still Las Vegas. It's just Southwest. I have some friends over there. It's a nice area.

If you're looking for installs, Speed Lab is the place to go. That's where I get most of my work done. Those are my good friends. If you need custom work done,(Piping, coilpacks, etc) talk to Tom(Terrible). He built my custom downpipe, dumptube, coilpacks, and did a street tune on my car. He knows his stuff.
