i'm looking for a new car. i want another mr2 (which i can afford) but my dad wants me to get a new car so i won't have to worry about problems that come with old cars and he's concerned for my safety (mainly because he knows somebody that has died in a mr2) so he's willing to help me pay for part of the car. so far there aren't really many cars that i like. i test drove a gti, it has nice low end power and junk but the top end and overall feel of the car makes it seem too much as a daily driver. the mr-s had no room (compared to my mk2 mr2). so far the evo and wrx is still elft on my list but the dealer i went to wouldn't let me test drive an evo until i filled out half of the paper work to buy a car. so where is there a dealer that has a demo car that i can trash around?

 

People have died in Evos also I'm sure.

Almost no dealer will let you drive their demo unless you show them that you really have the purchasing power to get a $30k car. You have to understand that they get tons of teenagers who just want to test drive with no REAL intent to buy. They are very likely seeing you as one of these kids since the only other cars you are seriously cross shopping are used and 1/3 the price.

I know of no dealership that will just let you take an Evo for a ride. sorry!

that doesn't necesarily make him a wreckless driver... he may have been exagerating a bit.

anyhow, i walked into santa monica mitsu and they offered to take me on a test drive. but i came from work, so i was dressed like a dork (aka business casual), and i had an appt. with one of the managers.

oh, and you should indicate where you're from...

 

by trash around i meant actually letting me drive it and putting a couple of miles on it, not really actually redlining it through the test drive...i've never even redlined my mr2 when i had it on the street. btw, i'm in socal, i can possibly try santa monica.

i've also heard that huntington beach is one of the better dealers... although i went to santa monica to test drive, i will most likely deal with hb.

 

Any dealership. Just take ur mom or ur dad or any old looking adult and look vERY INTERESTED. I test drove STI, corvettes, b4 I bought the evo... secret is *bring an adult.*
