New Guy
Hey, folks! New to the forums; been using them for a while, but finally registered, and finally getting around to the intro.
I have a 2014 Evo X MR as a daily driver in San Antonio, TX. So far, mods are MILD. Cobb cat-back quad-tip exhaust and SF intake with the appropriate mapping. Haven't done anything wild yet, and not sure I want to go totally nuts yet. At least with the SF intake, I can swap back to the stock and change the map to stock pretty easily, and hopefully get any necessary work done under warranty.
I got the MR for a couple of reasons ... one, it was on the showroom floor. Two, it already had the options I wanted (all that was missing was navigation). Three, it's supposed to be faster than the GSR 0-60. Supposed to be. Haven't been able to test that personally. :P Also, I'm not a huge fan of the massive spoilers on STIs and Evos ... it's a huge neon sign that says "hey cops, look at me!" The MR had the smaller spoiler stock, no need to special order, which would have taken time, and I am not well known for my patience.
My brother drives a Fiesta ST, which is one hot little pocket-rocket of a car! He gives me some mild grief over the MR, since he gets to "shift like a man." Then he gripes when we're stuck in traffic and he has to work the clutch constantly. While I do sometimes miss being able to "shift like a man," I don't miss a clutch in heavy traffic.
At any rate, wall of text ending. Glad to be here, and look forward to finding more great information on the Evo that I can apply to my beast!

It's kind of a joke between my brother and I ... we got it from Top Gear, when Hammond reviewed the Fiesta ST and said he was shifting gears, "like a man!" But, he had no issues with the manumatics in the Paganis he tested out. :P
I love my Evo! The more I drive it, the more I love it! I also de-badged it, so most folks just think it's a regular Lancer; when I leave them in my rearview mirror, they get a bit surprised. Those in "the know" gimme the nod or the thumbs-up.
Just wish there was a track here San Antonio!! Would love to run it and maybe get some trap times. oh, well.

Stock Evo vs. Stock ST ... it all depends on the drivers. Neither of us has "tracked" our cars, but messing around on the roads, if he gets the drop on me, I have to work to reel him in.
This is just conjecture, but I think a competent driver with an ST would be able to give an Evo a serious run for its money on the track. I can attest that the ST is no slouch car!!
