Good Guy/Bad Guy

I think we should put together a forum where people can tell about their experiences buying and selling stuff with individuals on this board. I think that if we network a little better and create reputations around those people worth doing business with and then lynch those who screw people it would cut down on some of these scammers. Also, I would consider not letting anyone (person not vendor) who isn't an evolving member sell anything.

Look in the information under each members username. Youll see the Personal Sales Rating. It works the same as Ebays feedback system. If you have questions about a members hisotyr, click on the rating.

The evolving member idea is great, but that may be a bit too much. That would require 50 posts I think. Maybe something like 20-25 posts would be more reasonable. I'll have to see how that would work.

For ratings / reviews, the trader rating system seems to work great as you can rate them, leave feedback, and it sticks with their username at all times

20-25 would be more reasonable agree..

You can still leave feedback to someone without having any transaction...

45 posts unless it's been changed. I think the trader rating system is awesome, but it can be cumbersome and difficult to use at times. My only complaints about it are that it should be easier to access, and that people don't use it enough.

I will fully agree that people don't use the rating system enough, as I had a bad run in with a member here and never posted feedback. I know that people are getting scammed and then looking to the mods and admins for help. If we can create a board wide stigma that scamming not only isn't tolerated, but you will then have a host of people looking to come down on you I think people might think twice about ripping people off.

I think I will add a shortcut link from the forum page to go straight to the Add Feedback form. That way it's less cumbersom to rate someone.

For the record, we have banned a few users in the past who have abused member to member sales. Generally speaking the issues can be worked out, but in some instances we've found it best to simply keep some of these people off the forums completely.

But obviously we cannot fix what we do not know about. If you have a problem with a member to member sale, please try to resolve it with the member first. If no resolution can be made (i.e. non-sending of goods) then please leave negative feedback and contact a staff member. I believe Google is in charge of the private for sale/wanted forums, and any of the three super mods can help. If you have PMs or threads regarding the sale PLEASE keep track of them and include them when you notify a staff member. We will do what we can to help victims in these cases, but please keep in mind we only have so much influence, so purchase wisely.
