Why was the "for sale" forum split?

Doesn't make any sense and just makes it harder to browse.

You're just making more work for yourselves in moving threads from mini-forum to mini-forum.

Hey why don't we split the Evo Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain forum into 3 separate ones? How about a forum for Evo Show and another one for Evo Shine?

Okay, rant done.

i like it because if i'm looking for something specific i can go to those forums, and not have to browse through all of them, and not have to do a search

We've already had multiple requests to do this spanning over several months. Now when you post something for sale it's not on page 7 in 20 minutes. Now when you post something people browsing the forums should (generally) have a better idea of what they'll be looking at before opening a thread (though that's ultimately up to the use to post appropriate thread titles and post in the correct forums).

Sorry you don't like it, but with the volume of member to member sales we can't afford to have just one hugely cluttered forum. We can't make everyone happy at once.

That's what we were going for.

If you don't feel like browsing those forums, you can just subscribe to each one and receive email notifications daily or weekly. That way you see what's for sale real quick, but you don't have to click around a lot.

Having the one forum was just not working anymore, so this seemed like the next best compromise. I think it's actually going to prove better once you get used to the format.

Does this affect the private for sale section? Or only the Evo vendor section?

Yeah, I'm resistant to change, but sometimes I just get in the mood to buy SOMETHING, so the all in one forum is better for an impulse buyer like me.

Hey, what happened to the the "report this post to a moderator" button?

The plan was to fix the vendor forums then work on the private classifieds. You're next!

The report this post link is an image that's located under the username. It's a trangle with an exclamation inside of it.

Slightly off topic - what should a private seller do if he's selling a variety of items? Seems like a split for-sale forum creates considerably more work for the poster (many of which seem to have a hard time with accurate thread titles as-is), buyer, and moderator.

Just something to consider.

Well, he should post in multiple forums, of course!

^^^ Ouch - so if I were a vendor that sold everything I'd need to have someone moniter 5 or 6 threads and update 5 or 6 ads - sounds messy.

At least for now I've stopped casually browsing the ads. Two threads were a pain (that group buy thing that was never closely followed), but 10 or 12 (vendors plus private for sale stuff) will be too much hassle. Simple is good, searching is easy.
