Best front/rear strut tower bars?

Best front/rear strut tower bars?

Hey guys.. I have been thinking about possibly doing some bars and braces to my evo 9 SE.. I would like to hear from people who are super in tune with what is going on in the evo world right now on this topic..

I don't want to buy an upgrade just to buy an upgrade.. I'm looking to make my car handle better and have actual noticeable handling improvements.. the front strut tower bar from the factory is a 3 point bar and I'm assuming those cheap 2 point bars won't actually be an upgrade... with that being said I'd like to hear some brand/model suggestions on what the best bars to go with would be.. if you could include a link that would be cool.. if not I'll check it out on my own. Thanks as always evom! Much appreciated!

Keep in mind! I want to hear from people who have upgraded and have seen noticeable differences! Tell me about how it felt when you upgraded the bars!

Almost forgot! Not only would I like to do front and rear bars but I'd like to do some others as well! Suggestions would be great!

The stock front upper bar is all you really need
But, if you want an aggressive looking front upper bar, I would look into the Carbing bars (make sure its a 3 point bar & no bolted hinges at the strut tower connection)
(you certainly wont feel the diff between the stock & the aftermarket)

The rear upper bar is not needed, however, I do run a Tein rear upper bar, but its there just to secure my E85 tanks when I drive to the track

The biggest increase in rear body stiffness is when I added the AP rear roll bar. That is a mod you will feel

Ultra racing fender bars. There was a thread about 4-5 years back on them improving the feel

I have a Cusco Rear Strut tower bar in place. Got it as a gift some 10 yrs ago noticed 0 difference. I leave it there so that I can bungee whatever need be to it in the trunk, E-85 cans, Cleaning Supplies, Tools, Etc...

Also added the Evolution RS Trunk Bar some time back and I feel like it did stiffen up a bit. could be a placebo. Also have a Whiteline 24mm RSB w/ upgraded heavy duty mounts.

Car has always handled very well on a Bilstein/Swift set up. Better than any 1k CO car I've driven and the BC's that were on my car that rusted away to nothing in a years time.

Yes Howard your setup is bananas! You have pretty much every cusco bar there is! I'm looking to find a good starting point by seeing what bars will make the most noticeable improvements out the gate

We should have asked you what suspension mods have been done?

Please note: These bolt-on bars are not game changers & will not be felt on a relatively stock suspension

I think you will hear the same from most of us here. Start w/some Swift / GTWorx springs & a 24mm Whiteline rear sway bar. That will certainly firm things up

If you are looking for more of an upgrade (in terms of adjustabilty) a set of Fortune Auto 500 c/o'rs would be a very nice upgrade

The bolt-on bars will do little before attacking the suspension first

Just curious, youve owned an EvO since 2005?

As for the strut tower bar, if you can find one(Discontinued), the DC Sport Titanium is all welded construction and lighter than stock. I'm looking for one myself.

Being lighter the only real benefit.

Is the Carbing still made?
