Exactimundo dude! Traffic enforcement cameras at lights and elsewhere are Orwellian claptrap. Mainly used to generate revenue for the bureaucrats. Ban front plates now, and put a crimp in their invasion of your privacy!

sigh. that **** will never get passed based on this petition alone, for several reasons.

I will only elaborate on one. The petition has to be respectable. look at all the dumbass comments on the petition. This is NOT persuasive.

look at this one:
57. Noel O. Front license plate sucks!!!

If we really want to get something accomplished, we need to not allow these people to make stupid comments. This is appear a bit more legitimate than a bunch of kids that dont want to put their plates on b/c it doesn't look cool.

if it wasnt for front license plates, the drunk who crippled my sister in his pickup and then drove off would never have been caught....

Bah.. we don't have any front plate in Quebec... I'm not saying it's optional.. I'm saying NO ONE has one.. They didn't even drill holes in my front bumper.. Most cars sold here need an extra bracket installed for a front plate if you took it, say, to Ontario :-)

Nah nah!

yeah, but you live in Canada ill take a country that actually has an army protecting it anyday of the week. requiring a front license plate is a small price to pay.

Front plates in many states are not required proving law enforcement can perform their duties without them. You read a plate from behind a car, not through your rear-view mirror and try to read it backwards.

Many new car front ends can be designed differently if all states adopt a one plate requirement. We could also save time, money and less recycling of old plates if there were half as many.

These are just a few legitimate reasons to cite in the petition. I have not had a problem locally here with the Evo.

"Finally, police officers will be more productive in stopping dangerous motor vehicle violations such as drunk driving, reckless driving, speeding, etc., because their time won't be compromised by a California motorist who simply didn't have a front license plate on display. "

They really won't like that part. It's like the people who get pulled over for speeding that say "shouldn't you be out catching the real criminals?"

Anyway, I signed the petition and changed the thread title for you.
